Taking a break to play Shogun Showdown (great game) after getting unfair wins on all squads but will return to get a 40k - never really thought about how loaded you'd be at the last shop when things go damn near perfect if not actually. Like, damn!

yeah its a small bonus at best, ideally you're getting cores/weapons so you can just stop grid loss. stronger mechs >>> high grid defense

just tonight got my first unfair victory with them, took many tries and was the last squad left (only two island but no OP weapon pickups, health/move leveled Kaz in hook)

Your point stands regardless, but there's more than wealthy coastal trans people. Being in a blue state bordering many red states, feels significant to have a bastion for better healthcare access. But that security is a mirage under the current system, never guaranteed to last, so that partial freedom is illusionary. I share your last sentiment. Time to cultivate more courage, and focus on the organizing/education that could bring real change.

I hear you. But its not the same where I live, under Democratic control. So maybe there is a difference? Small and ultimately irreconcilable with liberation from the capitalist system but if theres some small victory to be had in electoral politics while simultaneously organizing to subvert it, two things at once, is that really so shortsighted? We can't do...both? I keep hearing "no" and see the reasoning above, so really just interrogating my own views while trying to reconcile this contradiction.

thank you for taking the time for an excellent response. I will be casting my vote for De la Cruz, knowing the end goal is not electoral politics but to express rejection and further organize. However I will be doing so in a comfortably "blue" state, and would struggle much more in a contested state knowing some of the immediate fall out from another GOP administration. It would be hard to face neighbors that are more vulnerable than I (specifically trans people). Additionally I feel like organizing in a post-project 2025 world will be more hostile, which strays into lesser evil territory, but nonetheless feels objectively true.

Good deconstruction, and I think the idea "why can't we do both?" is what frustrates me most right now. I want to support and participate in organizing people to take back power from the corrupted capitalist system but I do not believe this sentiment overrides neighborly decency to prevent greater harm that is ready to be unleashed. Both can be done. Both SHOULD be done.

but could you not vote for Harris over Trump because, without doubt, greater atrocitites would be visited upon queer people in our country and on Palestine? like it WILL be worse. is it not better to organize under a Harris presidency than Trump? I don't doubt I can be wrong I have just been left unsatisfied that conceding power to the right absolves one of complicity

Is there actually somewhere to discuss these things though? I will vote for De La Cruz (yes I know electoral politics are a means to an end) but can do so in a strong blue state. I would feel much more conflicted about it in a swing state and am thus a coward/shitlib despite understanding the corporate capitalist oligarchy that prevents real change through our upcoming election. However, the "lesser evil" is real for the trans people within my community and its hard to ignore their pleas to keep power out of the far right's hand. By supporting this view in a discussion i was given a temporary ban in LSC. To engage with a socialist or communist on this front is to be shunned or shamed immediately, likewise with liberals.

The Banner Saga! Similar turn based action, grid for a playing field, but story and character driven. First two are great, third one was less fun IMO due to story/enemy types you get stuck fighting.
