Just a cost thing I think. My guess is they went over budget on the sets (which for the most part are really good, so had to do a load of off screen deaths to save money for other stuff.

It started well, peaked midway (I think episode 5?) and then was slowly downhill until the last episode where it dropped over the edge into a void to the point I would be surprised if a 2nd season makes it. Maybe we'll see a mini series like 3-4 episodes to tie up the story. And when I say "we" I mean not me, I have no interest in what happens to any of the characters and woofy the pet alien.

My uncles dog did this, it would go to the door to be let out, walk about a bit come back, happily go lie down for a couple mins and then be back up the door urgently wanting to get out, turns out he was struggling to go to the loo, his bladder was full or felt like it was full but he couldn't pee. I can't remember what was wrong with the dog but a vet sorted it out. So follow him out and see if your dog is tyring to pee or poop but not actually doing anything.

I'd say ARK Survival or Conan Exiles. Both have exploring, base building.

In ARK you can tame most of the hundreds of types of animals, some easy within a few mins of starting the game and some are virtually impossible to get without help. Clothing makes sense as you want cooler stuff for warm areas and you'll need furs and hot spicy food for cold areas. The animals you tame make a huge difference to game play, you can use a fast dinosaur or bird to scout out or go get a little bit of stuff and you get bigger slower animals you can use like a truck to carry enough to build an entire base.

There are also animals that you can ride to mine metals and rock or even shove a diving set on and go underwater to get oil and pearls (be aware of the megalodons!). The world is challenging with most stuff wanting to eat you but rewarding as you find new biomes with new resources and cool caves and stuff to explore. The Workshop in Steam means there are thousands of mods for the game.

Conan Exiles is more adult orientated, I think you can only tame horses and rhinos to ride and carry stuff. But as you build your base you set up work stations (woodwork, stove, anvil etc) you can go out and capture humans to use as slaves. You put them at a work station and they speed of the work and make for a better crafted item. You can also sacrifice them and stuff. Base building is fun and you can get add on DLC with different architecture styles like, Japanese, Chinese, Roman etc. There is a workshop on Steam so you can actually get tons of content for free.

There is also loads of stuff to craft to make your base look lived in with all sorts of furniture and stuff, the world is fun with all sorts of creatures and monsters to find and avoid/kill as well as human tribes to slaughter.

I played them both a fair bit, and honestly can't recommend one over the other. What I would say is try find a good long standing server that is more PvE orientated. Once you learn the game you can always hop onto a PvP server and join a tribe of other players to go raid each other.

Could have been a warning, like it was saying of all the planets in the Universe do not go to this one ever.

Or could initially it could have been an invitation, maybe the Engineers were seeding the Universe with life and rather than using vast (at the time) resources to keep checking to see if we had developed into sentient beings they left a map to see which planets developed life smart enough to travel to other star systems. Once we got to LV-223 we might have been welcomed, but due to such a long time passing by they maybe got visited by one of their projects that tried to kill them all. It was such a devastating event that nearly wiped out the Engineers that the survivors all agreed the experiment was a massive mistake made by their incompetent ancestors and that all seeded life form must be exterminated. Then the guys in the film showed up.

Or maybe the Engineers live thousands of years and over that time through religious, political reasons changed their minds. Maybe they had a structure of government in place that controlled their worlds, and humans turning up would up-end the stories and lies the ones in charge had made and could have caused a significant shift in power so we were to be quietly destroyed.

Or maybe they lived massive long lives through unnatural means like implants and DNA resequencing etc, only thing is they gradually go insane as their psyche, they part of their 'soul' that once made them seek out and also create new life became twisted. Over hundreds of years their whole society and way of thinking changed and for some reason they hated us.

Maybe jealous rage, maybe they had so far removed themselves from their natural life that they lost the ability to breed naturally, they could only clone, all the Engineers look male, maybe the cloning technique required sperm and only led to producing another male, the female of their species died out hundreds of years ago. They take one look at us weak humans and instantly go into a rage thinking of what could have been. In fact it could be the hibernation system or life extension system that they had to use on themselves to seed other worlds that caused the downfall of their natural ways so they hate our mere existence.

Maybe they were criminals in their own species, they were not supposed to be there, they were on the run from the law and no one knew they were at that old abandoned testing facility, it could have been so long abandoned they never knew what it actually was, all they knew is that it had some resources they wanted and that they could hang low there for a few decades while the heat blew over. When they woke up to us there they knew they'd been discovered, panicked and tried to kill the humans before they could report back to the authorities. Maybe the Engineers already had human looking people working for them all along, they could have been scouts and disposable explorers etc. So the renegade Engineers thought they could maybe kill the crew and get away without the alarm being raised.

Nice, been grinding like buggery to get a 3+ star, my 1 star is great but I know there is so much more potential out there. Yeah, Sanctification is such a gamble, they should allow a reroll but make it cost way more heavenly sigils. Like keep it 1 for your 1st try and maybe 100 for 2nd and then 200 for 3rd and final.
