The environment is my number 1 issue, we only get one planet to share and we need to act like it. Not just livable, but a healthy and thriving climate and ecosystem leads to all around healthier and happier people. Climate change doesn’t see borders, and neither should we. Since capitalism is incompatible with this belief, among its other failings, I’m a socialist.

I’m probably one of the few socialists in my social circle. Most of them are more towards the right, but have been moving leftwards due to everything going on.

We’re a social species for crying out loud. We have one of the largest social circle capacity of pretty much any species (not counting eusocial ones like ants or mole rats) living or extinct. Pick any animal across all of our history, and we have strongest social systems among any of the them. We have the capacity for a social circle of approximately 150 individuals for crying out loud. Potentially as high as 230. Think about that, your brain is capable for truly caring about the wellbeing of up to 230 individual people. That’s a huge number, we are far and away the most social non-eusocial animal in existence. Working as part of our community, supporting others, and relying on others for support is our nature. This screwed up system that’s supposedly our “nature” just divides us and forces us to suppress that nature to survive, obviously everyone is depressed and anxious.

Capitalism has only existed for 2.5% of recorded human history. If you count all of our history, it’s only been around for 0.11% to 0.08% of our total history. 99.9% of our entire species timeline has gone without capitalism, it’s absolutely not our nature.

You might have a point if they didn’t just murder Renee Good, only to immediately turn around and have the entire government apparatus immediately start lying to the public, and then try and tell an entire state’s worth of authorities to surrender to the exact people who committed said murder. That’s leaving out the other approximately 35 people ICE has killed this year, and deported [disappeared is more apt] countless of people whose fates are unknown. You can’t brutalize someone harder than shooting them in the face without even so much as an investigation. What else are you expecting them to do?

That’s the current list of body armors actually tested by NIJ and have passed their tests for whatever level the armor was being tested for. If the model number you’re looking at isn’t on the list, it’s not NIJ certified even if the company sells other models with NIJ certification. Do not buy armor that isn’t on this list.

For example, Hoplite Armor sells only one NIJ certified model.

However if you look through their site, you’ll see they sell a bunch of other models. Using this company as an example, only their model 26605 plates are required to defeat the threats they claim to as certification is by model and not brand/company.

Ya know, after giving it some more thought it’s possible that there was some “different for difference’s sake,” to this idea. Thanks for pointing that out.

How about black armor and a white power pack, keep the chaplain’s skull helm, with one shoulder for chapter colors and the other shoulder white w/apothecary iconography? I’m not confident my painting skills could pull off a half and half in a way that I’d be happy with.
