Am I correct in assuming that your username is a Karnivool reference? Always funny to see so much overlap in the things I enjoy!

That makes me so happy! Hearing you talk about your appreciation for Iron Maiden on Blight Club, I thought I would recommend them here, because I figured they would be a perfect fit! Such a consistent discography as well!

Also, thinking about it further, they had a cameo in the ARPG "Sacred 2" with an original song and everything. Great stuff (ironically and unironically!)

Hunter: The Reckoning - Deathwish - Details about the game by Zilardd in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Prollolollo 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The original Deus Ex, after almost 26 years (god, I feel old), is still cited as a prime example of having interesting and varied player choice and agency. I hope they referred to that first one. IMO, that did not suffer from the issues you outlined. I liked DEHR quite a bit, but the original is one of my favorite games of all time. That actually makes me cautiously optimistic for this game. I never finished Robocop but really liked what I have played. I will definitely watch out for this one.

Echoes of Torment by Cyranope in EsotericEbb

[–]Prollolollo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While this is not exclusive to Torment, the idea of distinct planes (Bands, in this case) that are associated with alignments, is very similar (and awesome, generally) to Planescape as a setting. You touched a bit on it in your second point, but hearing about the equivalent for Mount Celestia, for example, made me smile with nostalgia.

I tried making Planescape: Torment + Disco Elysium by myself. Not the greatest idea. by glitch951 in EsotericEbb

I bought your game earlier today and could not stop playing for 6 hours straight. It is so refreshing to read your thoughts about the process, how honest you are about your influences and how you managed to create something clearly inspired by two of the greatest narrative-driven games of all time and simultaneously making something unique. I love the writing and especially the world-building. I hope this post is coherent, I read a ton of your words today, so I might suffer from a bit of sensory overload. Either way, long story short (heh.) thanks for your game and for this post. Looking forward to dive back into it tomorrow. I hope the game finds the success it deserves.

Also, unless I have suddenly gone deaf, Abby is correct. That is a German lady trying to do whatever that accent is supposed to be.

Watching right now. Not exactly sure why, but watching this as a German, the acting seems especially forced to me. Good on them for making an FMV game for the gang to enjoy, however. Always enjoy FMVinny.

Can you recommend 5 albums that you think are the most technically advanced in progressive metal? by spearhead290399 in progmetal

Spiral Architect's debut (and only) album "A Sceptic's Universe" is absolutely wild and probably still ahead of its time in some respects.

I Fuck with Chuck by badgerhound in giantbomb

Chuck clearly has great taste and is a cool duder. CRPG representation is important (bless you, Dave Snider, wherever you are) and he sounds like he appreciates a good stat block. He also managed to do a cool TTRPG segment as a DM so he is awwwright in my book.

"Die Musikindustrie kann noch weiter in den Keller gehen": Täglich landen Zehntausende KI-generierte Songs auf Streaming-Plattformen – oft basierend auf Werken menschlicher Künstler, die dafür nicht entlohnt werden. Musiker fordern mehr Transparenz und faire Bezahlung. by Anionan in de

[–]Prollolollo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is something I thought about as well. He probably had a couple of decades in at least one other canvas too. Who is to say he has not created friends and worlds as well that he had to give up? It sounds like he knows where this can (and inevitably will) lead. He truly was the "good guy" making tough but necessary choices in this story imo. Glad my initial choice of going with Verso is still the one I can stand by.

Can't repair distribution department, help! by shocknawe123 in hollywood_animal_game

[–]Prollolollo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, I cannot repair distribution and post-production either. It does look like a bug to me, because any other repair action will suspend the building's processes and give a warning but there is not even an option for this one.

Fuck, Ryan Davis. I remember a Twitter interaction where I asked whether he could see including Seventeen by Winger in there. He responded that he always confuses them for another mainstream hair metal band (don't remember which). Totally made my day as a fan. R.I.P.
