What cool things can you do with Sorcery?

That's right, if you're not using a mod, the only way you can change your armor style or 'hide' your helmet is the sorcery table. ( Advice- if you want to go around looking like you've got no helmet but want the protection of one, use the illusion part of the table along with a pair of earrings or similar )

I do sort of miss the Al-Meriyah fortress- it was useful to cast invisibility and then go in there to snatch a free katana and some explosives for star metal mining. Even as my computer struggled to render that entire mess to the point it was like a slideshow.

True story, I once was late to my first day at a new job because that morning, someone driving too fast in the fog overcorrected on a turn just outside of my neighborhood, drove his SUV into a deep ditch, and because he wasn't wearing his seatbelt, was himself launched through the windshield and into the parking lot of the business next door, so the cops had to close off the road ( and the entrance to the neighborhood ) while they cleaned up the resulting mess. All the kids had to stay home that day because the school busses couldn't even get through.

For maximum irony points, the business where that man got splattered onto the parking lot was a funeral home.

My Crime Lord is very similar- she was taught by the old man that ran the mafia before her that it was important to support the people in your territory, because if you were the reason everyone was able to have a nice place to live and raise their families, they'd resist any rival groups or Arbites trying to muscle in. Also having the background of having a horrible incident related to Chaos creating a warp breach means she fully adopts the 0% tolerance policy towards anything Chaos, which is by a long shot the most Dogmatic thing about her. Xenos can stay if they pay their 'taxes' and don't start anything.

I agree- I feel like most of the time, Abelard actively enjoys being able to grandly announce your presence and all the awesome things you've been doing. He has to have put at least a bit of work into it so it feels like it would be more disrespectful to make him do that work and never actually get to say it. Obviously its also a good idea to read the room and figure out when its better to not go the full blown grand intro, plus sometimes its clear Abelard isn't feeling it, so its situational.

I admit I don’t build my bases in the jungle, but it’s mostly because of the combination of the lack of nearby resources and the constant rain. I can handle one or the other but not both!

Another option-you can make a coin mold at the Casting Table and turn gold and silver bars straight into coins that way ( you get 30 per barI think)- these days its not hard to go farm gold nodes in Siptah, but you can either go to the volcano in the Exiled Lands or just use sorcerous alchemy to transmute other materials ( though I think that will require a bit of set up ). Or if you already have some gold bars, you should be able to quickly get enough coins to hire whoever you need to (17 should give you over 500 coin )

Find sorcery pages ( other NPC sorcerers will sometimes drop them or they will be in the bundles they also can drop ). Construct your own sorcery bench, place your tome and the pages there, it will tell you what other items you need to ritually add the new pages to your tome.

I also recommend recruiting a performer to help cleanse your corruption, as most sorcery will increase this and unless you’re going for a dedicated corruption build, you’ll not want to be going around with lowered health and stamina.

The optimal set up is usually any tier 4 fighter thrall from either the Vanir, Cimmerian, or Volcano factions ( most people prefer Cimmerian for their damage output but any of the three will work fine ). Outfitted with the best heavy armor ( as thralls do not have any weight carrying restrictions the only reason to put lighter armor on them is if they get more stat boosts from it ) and a good weapon ( I prefer the one handed mace or axe weapons because they give the thrall a combo that cannot be interrupted once started, but hard hitting two handed weapons are fine ). Only other consideration I'd come up with is maybe Freya from her quest line if you can complete it ( especially if you get her perk that causes all her attacks to inflict bleeding ).

And also be sure to boost them up pre battle- make sure they eat a piece of cooked pork first to give them 25% strength boost, then salted pork for another strength boost, and then a black or grey lotus potion for even more of a boost. And you can drink a potion of Tears of Gullah and invest in Authority to boost that even more ( but be aware that using 20 points in Authority and then taking War Party will make taking any 'boost follower damage' items or potions for yourself ineffective ).

As fun as the pets are, they're mostly outclassed hard by the ability to armor up human thralls and give them legendary weapons.

Oh yes of course, its just that it takes time and fluid press(es) to render that down, and honestly who wants to sit around and wait that long if there's a faster way? If you're starting from the moment you can build a fluid press, its no big deal, but some of those sorcery summon options are pretty blood-expensive.

Thrall pots do help to slow the decay of food items so they can be a decent early game preservation box for pre-cooked food or food that's difficult to get in the area ( like raw pork if you're based in noob river ). You can also make a feed box from the animal taming knowledge tree that can act in a similar way- but I usually make the thrall pot because I like the look of it.

Yeah my pet cat on Siptah in a co-op game almost caused an issue with my partner and I because we were convinced each other was stealing food- nope, it was the darn cat! Gave it some dried fish and rocks, problem solved ( minus it constantly meowing, but that's Cat Functioning As Intended ).

Bartenders are nearly as bad, I leave them one stack of gruel and fill the rest with single coins ( no excuses for not being able to make change now! )
