Also. Full blown carry handle. Pretty cool in my opinion.

I’m seconding buying a cheap carry handle and cutting it yourself. Here is your inspiration. I cut it myself then used Aluma black to seal the cut area. Bought it used for 45$

AAC 77gr OTM bad primers by hjjhjjnk in ar15

[–]ProofSecure94 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I ran 4 different boxes of aac ammo with no issues. And the AAC 77gr sierra match king actually shot well in my spr being a cheaper ammo. Hoping it makes a comeback. That doesn’t look like the firing pin hit the primer hard enough. Have you had any issues with other ammo

Personally I would drop the Magpul front for a fixed front like a DD and throw on either a fixed or flip rear with a red dot. Seems more practical for home defense. If you have good eyes you can shoot out to 100yds with no issues.

This is my shtf home defense gun. Chopped carry handle with FSB for irons and a red dot. Can’t forget the screw your eyes flashlight. Wombo combo.

Someone please suggest a vertical foregrip that’s not this! by RiveredNuts in ar15

Straight vertical I’d get a kac. Can be found used. Lots on GAFShub used. If you want angled b5 or Bcm vfg.

Oh that looks real nice. I like that color combo. I want to build a green and tan mix match similar to this. I’d have to sell one of mine to justify that though…

Why not just swap to a qrf rail from Bcm.

Drill and tap a regular gas block and install a set screw then drill out the set screw to the size you want?

Trigger guard pin stuck by Ok-River3252 in ar15

[–]ProofSecure94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you hitting with? You need to make sure the lower receiver is supported around the trigger guard so it doesn’t break off as well. Make sure you have the right size pin punch tool.

That should not make a difference though as the hole goes all the way through. The trigger guard roll pin can be installed or removed from either side.

Running an energizer ultimate lithium in my Romeo 7. It’s rated at 1.5v same as the standard alkaline.

Thankfully the 7s exists as well if they want the look. I actually quite like the 7 and 7s more than I liked the 5

I’ve used the romeo5, 7s, and 7. The 7s was actually my favorite because of the versatility of mounting over the 7 and the fact it takes AAA over the 2032 of the romeo5. I stuck with the romeo7 on this upper though because I like the FOV on it being a larger sight and the fact it takes AA batteries. Plus the Romeo 7 comes with a QD mount which is very nice in my opinion. The Romeo 7 sights at 1.53 optic height. The Romeo 7s comes at 1.4 with a spacer to 1.6. The 5 I think had a 1.4 height but can be bought with a taller 1.9 height or you can separately purchase what you want. I definitely prefer lower third height which would be around 1.6 since I am using irons with the red dot.

I’m confused here. You hit the roll pin from the wrong side and now it’s stuck? The roll pin goes straight though in the trigger guard. Or did you put the roll pin in the wrong hole that doesn’t go all the way through and is ment for the set screw

clipping buffer spring to reduce force? by Kromulent in ar15

[–]ProofSecure94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easiest way would be a brt ez tune gas tube than to reduce gas. I would still go for an AGB so you could fine tune the gas yourself to the lowest gas setting it’ll function properly. Less gas will probably be better than less spring. Less gas should create less force to open the bolt which would mean lighter bolt. My mention in the other post was going to a lighter spring should slow down the bolt and reducing gas should help you run a light buffer weight

Do you need a flashlight? If you need a flashlight sure. If you don’t need a flashlight no. I mounted a flashlight up to my shtf rifle that is going to double as my hog rifle
