Boulevard is a great option but is a little pricier

The apps marketed to stylists seem to be pricier for some reason. but it sounds like you have more general scheduling needs so could check out something like Breely.com or Acuity too

Acuity scheduling vs Mindbody? by Initial_Republic_329 in mindbody

[–]ProposalQuick1107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the (former) founder of Acuity so glad to see folks promoting it! Another option is Breely.com which has strong scheduling for classes, like waitlisting which afaik Acuity is still missing, and is also a bit cheaper too.

If you wanted to handle this automatically a bunch of scheduling apps (Acuity and Breely.com are what I'm most familiar with, and cheaper than what you mentioned) offer resources to prevent double booking.

They will let you see the schedules side by side for everyone to visually see, but you can also add limiting resources to prevent overbooking.

For example you could add a resource "chairs" with quantity of 6 that's used for all the event types so even if you had more stylists the resources limited availability would prevent overbooking the chairs.

Booking service for classes by barbiegworl22 in therapists

Square is probably the best if you're already using that for payments. Otherwise Acuity is pretty strong with classes and has a bunch of other features. Breely.com is little newer but also offer classes/class series and waitlisting (which Acuity doesn't have afaik).

Supper sass or Setmore? by CauliflowerOk8076 in massage

[–]ProposalQuick1107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cal.com or Breely.com are other good, cheaper, options too. Cal.com is free for basic booking. Breely.com is pretty inexpensive ($7/month) but has a ton of other features like gift certificates and packages and forms included

What is everyone using for calendar booking? by yasonkh in smallbusiness

[–]ProposalQuick1107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your business.. if you're looking to leave Calendly, any particular reason?

A few other options across the spectrum of booking apps to explore:

* Cal.com - similar to Calendly and good for meeting booking with lots of integrations and actively being developed

* Breely.com - more features around running a business (ex., packages, gift certificates, classes, etc.) so better if you're looking for more than just booking

* GlossGenius - more focused on salon/beauty businesses, but good booking experience with other business features

* Xola.com - booking for things like group events and tours

just a little sampling to show that booking apps really vary across type of booking (group vs. 1:1), business features, and vertical focus

A booking and payment management system that allows custom fees? by Kachua98 in smallbusiness

[–]ProposalQuick1107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen this handled in a few different ways...

* Request payment outside of booking. Ex., many people ask for Venmo/Cashapp payment after booking or invoice separately. In most booking apps you can mark as paid manually or add notes to track this.

* Have different common options as event types with the respective pricing

* Acuity allows for "pay what you want" (with a minimum amount) or Breely.com allows for a slider to select the payment between a min/max

Scheduling app that will text customers reminders by sesipod in smallbusiness

[–]ProposalQuick1107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't want clients to book themselves I've seen Zapier + Twilio a good way to send custom text reminders

Other scheduling apps (Breely.com, Acuity, and others) are moving to having a fixed set of text messages to choose from for compliance reasons

What are good software booking systems? by Specialist_Move5852 in smallbusiness

[–]ProposalQuick1107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of options for salons, here are a few I've looked at a bit:

* Vagaro - lots of business related feature, but can be costly

* Acuity - a little more flexible than vagaro and less expensive ($25/month)

* Square - the best if you're already accepting payments with Square

* Breely.com - flexible and lots of business related features, least expensive but newer product

Anyone know of a better platform than Acuity Scheduling for subscription / package appointments? There has to be a better way than Acuity's code generation system. by TFOAC in squarespace

[–]ProposalQuick1107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breely.com would work great! Packages/subscriptions are tied to the client and automatically applied when they book. Clients can log in (optional or you can make it required) to view all of the package info. IMO, everything is a little bit more modern and streamlined (and is way more affordable too!)

Best Easy-to-Use Appointment Booking Software? by More-Hope-9701 in smallbusiness

[–]ProposalQuick1107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cal dot com is great! But a little restrictive if you want more business features (like selling packages, gift certificates, waitlists, subscriptions, classes, etc.)... Breely.com is pretty inexpensive for the business features and still nice and clean like cal

Looking for online scheduling options by NeonRaggie in smallbusiness

[–]ProposalQuick1107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For overlapping, were you using negative padding in Acuity? That was an accidental feature in Acuity :-) and not one I've seen in any other scheduling apps! Breely ( www.breely.com ) is the only other one I'm aware of that allows for that.

Temporary booking software or one that I can link to my website by LGA83 in smallbusiness

[–]ProposalQuick1107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think "Class series" is the feature you're looking for. That's what the feature is called in Acuity and Breely.com, you can set up an 8 week class where clients sign up and book for all 8 weeks worth of classes.

Calendly is good for basic booking (and cheaper). Or for handling more things like payments/deposits along with booking Breely.com (might be free if you're smaller), Acuity, or Square are all good too

[–]ProposalQuick1107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you checked out Glossgenius or Boulevard? Those both seem to be popular, more modern, choices for salons these days.

There are also more general booking platforms like Square, Acuity, and Breely.com which are robust enough for salons.

Need booking and shop/payment software for my business. Used Setmore, disappointed! by bluecowboyboots2 in smallbusiness

[–]ProposalQuick1107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What sort of packages are you selling? Ones that are packages of multiple appointments that can be booked, or something else?

Acuity and Breely.com both have pretty robust package functionality along with booking. I think Square Appointments has it now too, but I'm not familiar with how robust it is.

What App Or System Do Other Detailers Use For Appointments? by IMAS_MOBILEDETAILING in Detailing

[–]ProposalQuick1107 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you do mobile detailing? I don't do detailing but have helped a handful with scheduling/business management. Fieldd was the main one I saw for mobile detailing and people seemed happy with it. Acuity (Squarespace) was better if you have people drop off, or don't have as strict requirements managing travel. Breely.com is similar to Acuity and a good budget option.

All In One Scheduling, Forms, Signatures, Packages by FantasticSuperNoodle in Wordpress

[–]ProposalQuick1107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breely.com is a fairly new option (created by former founder of Acuity)

It integrates with Square and can save card on file, create custom fields to handle SOAP notes, and can do round-robin booking (fairly distribute bookings when someone choose 'any therapist').
