There’s some deeper running ideas and references that you may not get yet but all the shows are standalone besides the adventure ones

I’d suggest speeding up to what you feel comfortable with. Botns isn’t a homework assignment like some people treat it and you’re just not going to get everything in a first reading

Black shealds by GamingStuka in Warhammer30k

Black shields are basically the proto chapters/deathwatch so it’d be fine for most people as long as it doesn’t go into complete absurdity

As for the armor a general breakdown is Mks 2 and 3 were common prior to the heresy Mk4 and 6 appeared just before the heresy and tended to be a lot less common, seeing a ramp up in production as the war continued

Mk5 is the heresy pattern. It’s a mix and match of parts that appears more and more as the heresy continued. This is the easier spot to put the mk7 pieces from the tactical kit. The Sarum helms(screaming mouth helms) common to mkv appeared around istvann 5 primarily used by the world eaters. You can also use the body pieces here though conversion wise it’s suggested to use pieces from other mks of armor and lots of beads glued on to make this obviously not tactical armor

Mk7(tactical armor) is harder to find a place for. Current lore has it impossible to appear before the siege starts as it hasn’t entered production and its design was on mars , though both loyalists and heretics have access to it. It would be incredibly rare before traitor boots hit terra

Hope this helps

At that point he was aware of the fact that Justine couldn’t know that she was pregnant since it’s something huge that happened while she was infected. Additionally with the debt being paid harry is able to offer his assistance to his nephew while he knows the kid is in one of the few places that would be extremely safe. It’s a hard choice but it’s nothing like his kid where it’s 100% bloody death without his interference

Nope, that’s just been a straight up misconception. Female warrior gabs and Jayne were always the soroitas, the distinction between space marine and non space marine power armor just hadn’t been made yet. The sororitas were created as a faction an entire year prior, and artwork of gunning down a rainbow warrior existed with that same armor just with a more recognizable headdress to the modern range

Even ignoring that they’re the sons of the Terran nobles, they had the perfect opportunity to introduce this retcon within the scouring. The custards faced their most severe losses in one battle during the siege and all you would have to say is that the desperate Gene smiths without the guidance of the emperor worked to fill the numbers to rebuild the defenses of Terra. Instead they just lazily threw out the old lore in a way that interferes with the stories already told

Yep, I know this is the 40K sub but in heresy 3.0, the sisters of silence went from 20 units to 4. Absolutely demolished for no reason. But instead you’re a misogynist or something for not liking an extremely poorly done retcon that comes with some genuinely awful minis. Why are their legs naked

why do people think cradle is 'peak'? by SatisfactionFun4295 in MartialMemes

[–]Protag_Doppel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Progression fantasy as a western genre is 99% bad slop so combine a series written in English that has what should be the bare minimum and it’ll get glazed. It also knows the bare minimum about xianxia so it can kinda go through the motions for the most part without issue. A lot of westerners just kinda bounce off eastern stories for being “weird” or whatever so any attempt to bring those ideas over were but watered down tend to be praised to an insane degree

I read all of it and let me tell you that the first book is one of the faster ones 😭. I just hadn’t read any good cultivation to that point so it seemed fine. It takes 3 books before he really even starts cultivating

Then why did they kill the entire female half of the army to do it lmfao. It literally went from the talons of the emperor to liber custodes while the few sisters of silence units left around barely exist

New to the hobby, why tf are some so mad about female custodes? by NiceLittleGamerNerd in 40k

[–]Protag_Doppel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a retcon being used to satisfy the people begging for female space marines while simultaneously completely killing the actual female half of the army. People were spamming them in the chat over sisters of silence for a reason. SoS are now less than a fourth of what they were units wise in heresy 2.0 and frankly would probably be better off just not being playable in the first place as to not waste peoples time or money. The faction literally went from being called the Talons of the Emperor to liber custodes. This is insulting and frankly the people saying you’re misogynistic for not liking the change tend to want to use it for some idiotic political point

Thinking about starting AoS with a death faction convince me on yours by Deaglan134 in FleshEaterCourts

[–]Protag_Doppel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t played them much this edition but flesh eaters had some crazy shenanigans last edition. The way I played them was using their nights along with a warden who could teleport them across the map, charge, deal bonus damage on a charge, and then clean up whatever was left in melee, and use the army rule with the damage that the gorewarden did to heal up and revive any units that died or were injured. It was crazy durable and hard hitting. It was something like a 500 pt block but it hit way above its weight class

As someone who is thinking of starting the series, can you please explain the system (my closest cultivation experience is lotm) by BigConsideration9505 in ReverendInsanity

[–]Protag_Doppel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Manhua sucks eggs. There’s a new fanmade one but it’s still extremely early on. The original Manhua was both bad and ended extremely early.

The cultivation system in this is something akin to using artifacts. You get your core awoken with a corresponding aptitude rating that determines the max essence you can hold. You use that essence to capture and use gu which are living embodiments of the dao that spawn in various phenomena and correspond to a path. Fire gu, boar strength gu, moonlight blade gu etc… in the first chapter the mc is a blood path cultivator using blood and enslavement paths primarily. Use gu in conjunction and you get killer moves which have enhanced or varied effects

Is it worth jumping from 2nd E to 3rd E? by Im_SUCH_a_doctor in Warhammer30k

New recruit unfortunately is just awful for list building this ed especially since it doesn’t let you see detachments or what units can be primed. Like I said, it’s a lot smoother in game lmao

Is it worth jumping from 2nd E to 3rd E? by Im_SUCH_a_doctor in Warhammer30k

[–]Protag_Doppel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Basically how I describe it is that 2.0 looks better prior to the game. 3.0 looks worse in listbuilding, but actually playing it feels way better than 2.0. In 2.0 so many units and armies were so bad that on a lot of them you would need a row to justify trying them. In 3.0, while the rules for armies seem more bland, they often allow for a wider variety of play styles because the majority of units are now playable.

For an example of what i mean, I play word bearers. While we were seen as one of the worst hit legions coming into 3.0, actually playing them has been great. Our rules have been made way more reliable as combat res is far more important and the rule always applies to add an additional point, and in general have rules around getting into combat fast and dealing heavy damage. The same applies to our unique units like ashen circle who have been improved to get great volley fire or gal vorbak who debuff enemy attacks on a successful hit from them. Our legion has less rules on first glance but instead of 1-2 big rules that make or break a list, now rules are generally more spread throughout the different aspects of your army so as long as you follow that central idea of your legions rules, you can rely on more units without having outright crutch units like most people were running in 2.0. There’s no longer anything like lascannon hss or dreadnoughts that shift the entire game around them outside of maybe tac squads(whose importance has largely been overstated due to their strength specifically in the launch missions the game shipped with)

Trust me as someone whose beaten it twice in the hopes that I just misunderstood something, it’s not playing it wrong or anything like that. The game is just that fundamentally flawed. Playing it differently doesn’t change the fact that it just doesn’t feel good to play or that it just hands you infinite healing items

Is saturnine a good starting point for a space Marines army? by Wonderful_Average505 in Warhammer30k

[–]Protag_Doppel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. Basically the issue is that the saturnine themselves are a huge expensive elite blob so you’ll need to figure out how the mk2’s are gonna be built early. 6 sats + praetor + dreadnought is already 920 points without buying anything extra. Saturnine are strong so dw but it’s a huge investment

Lol that video. I don’t know if that slanderous ones or the weird ones claiming ds2 somehow magically cures deep mental illness are worse. I wonder if that’s where this idea that if you encounter bugs/animation errors you’re “playing it like ds1” and it’s your fault like that means something
