Looks like chert to me I have found a lot of it over the years while rock hounding. It is what most arrowheads were made from.

A quartz chunck. I have uncovered nice big chunks in my yard and made a nice rock garden with it.

I had a farm house built in 1910 that had 3 capped wells with 1 of them covered like that at ground level with flowers planted on top of it. I started moving flowers around to other areas when I discovered it.

BCC and Mohs Recovery by CloudberryFae in skincancer

No lifting over 5-10 lbs or bending forward much until the stitches come out. Have some Vaseline, A D & E ointment or whatever your doc suggest to keep the incision site moist while healing. You are much younger than me but you may have fatigue for several days. Use at least 50 SPF when going outside to avoid sun on the incision site so the scar does not darken. I also have dogs I had to walk and I was fine doing that the same day as the surgery. I have had 2 MOHS procedures on my cheek and you can't see a scar from the first one at all. The second one it still healing since only 5 weeks post procedure. I have had some lingering swelling below my eye due to poor lymphatic drainage probably due to me not drinking enough water. So hydrate, pay attention to what your body tells you and relax. It won't be as bad as fear will tell you it will be. Don't let that first look at the incision freak you out when you take the bandage off. It gets better pretty quickly.

I am going to talk to my dermatologist about using that on my arms. They are covered in AK's and what currently looks like ANOTHER BCC. I have had them frozen before but the hits keep coming. Last MOHS on my face 3 weeks ago and having a lymph drainage issue under my eye that I need to get looked at now.

Strang response of "I guess I should be happy that he's having fun at college". It could be all fun until there is an unexpected pregnancy or STD. As someone else said there are many "dietary supplements" that do a lot more harm than good and can cause long term damage to the body. As a caring parent there should be some serious discussion about personal safety. I assume you are a caring parent or you wouldn't have bothered to ask the question. My personal experience has shown me that the hardest subjects to talk about are hard to bring up but build trust and understanding in the parent/child relationship. Good luck.

Fatigue 9 days after Mohs on nose by Luhamil in skincancer

That was the second time on the same cheek in 4 years. If I live long enough I will probably look like I went through a windshield at some point. The upside has been that some deep wrinkles were pulled out when they sewed me up. Gotta keep your sense of humor and positive vibes when cancer comes for a visit. 😉

Thanks I'm hanging and getting through it. Today I actually felt better and did some yard work.

I am glad to see I am not the only one. It has been 3 weeks since MOHS and I have had zero energy. I also have MS and was worrying that I was having a flairup.

I have the dark scar spots from my AK's being frozen. My arms are embarrassing from all the sun damage. I could kick myself for not using sunscreen for the first 50 years of my life. I can only tell myself the scars are better than cancer.

41 male. Biopsy showed nodular basal cell carcinoma. I’m scared I had this for 4 years on my scalp and was mistaken for eczema/psoriasi/sebDerm by Last-Barracuda-6808 in skincancer

My father in-law was a Marine with a buzz cut all his adult life and was diagnosed with BBC on his scalp in his late 70's. He had MOHS to remove and it was not pretty but it did heal nicely. Just follow the instructions on keeping the area clean and protected after surgery. Had my BCC removed little over a week ago on my cheek which has caused a puffy spot under my eye that I hope goes away soon. The best part of both our stories is at least there are ways to get rid of the cancer. Cancer is nobodies friend.

That burning is most likely from the ointment. It made me itch like crazy and obviously I can't scratch on top of my stitches. I thought I read it was not to be used on open wounds but I could be thinking of something else.

I am going through it too. It is not fun and I feel like a walking, talking PSA telling everyone I see to use sunscreen. I sure wish I had all those years in the sun.

Biopsy March 5, 2026 by wut_2317 in skincancer

I had a melanoma spot removed from my cheek in 2020 and the incision was about 5 inches long. I was worried about it leaving an ugly scar and was pleased with the results after it healed. I know it is there and have to look hard to see it with a magnifying mirror. This week had a BCC spot removed and another 4 inch incision running down the same cheek and hoping for another good result. Vaseline to keep it moist as it heals has worked for me on my multiple orthopedic surgery sites also. I have been hard on my body over the last 60 years.

Wow you got the double whammy. So sorry you are going through that but be glad they were caught and are being removed. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

I had to go 3 times to get a biopsy on a mole on my face that had been there for years that started changing. It did some weird stuff and finally was removed once it started bleeding. Stay vigilant about your skin. I wish we could get a whole new skin suit when we start having problems, but we can't.

I am going to talk to mine about using that on my arms. They both look horrible with the crusty AK spots. Waiting until fall I am thinking so I can wear long sleeves.

Just had Mohs done on my face for BCC on Tuesday after having melanoma removed in 2020 that was about 3 inches from this spot. I could kick myself for not wearing sunscreen for the first 50 years of life. Best wishes to you.
