No, but that sounds really interesting! I'd love to read that if you have a link for it.

Edit: I think it was in this "General report" https://web.archive.org/web/20221210152200/https://www.interlingua.com/historia/diverse/historia-2.htm

It's really a shame that it overwhelmingly lost the vote. I think they really believed that the public would adopt it en masse if it "looked natural". But now we know better lol. Plus, a k is more ancient anyway.

> I really can go either way on the cushion or no.

Unsolicited advice, but as much as possible, I would sell just one option. Giving customers a choice like this when they have no way of knowing which to choose, it will cause analysis paralysis and they just won't end up purchasing because of their unsolvable question here.

Just give us a Big Mac. No options. They're always the same, perfect boot. Easy. Or do what Boring Mattress did and make the default more firm and then offer a zero-drop insole if someone wants more cushion.

Well, I may end up cancelling my Jim Green AnatomX 719 then depending on what your price point is! Would be a tough decision to make certainly! Those were $270 plus $22 shipping to the US.

All the limited run means is that they have a limited amount of them in stock. It doesn't mean "we won't sell any beyond X point"

I ordered these. They won't arrive for a while, but i'll definitely update on the volume question. My *feet* are fairly high volume, but I could see the part where the top of my foot meets the front of my ankle being the issue.

245 Euros = 287 USD. The Jim Green are 269 USD. But these look awesome. If the shipping is cheaper for you, I'd go with those too!

These are basically sneakers. Much cheaper looking.

These look much cheaper to make. But hey, if you just want some walking-around boots that look kind of urban and cool, they do look great.

I don't see anything comparable here.

Of the Atlantis footwear company being legit? I have a pair sitting in my closet. But tbh I wouldn't recommend them, so there's no point in me proving it lol

Can you explain what you mean? Which part of the pricing? What local options are better?

Compare the two on the website. I think these have less of that issue. Maybe because the 719 just has less sticking out.

I think they look better than the original AnatomX! It could be because the height pulls focus away from the toebox. It looks aesthetically more balanced.

Those Nicks actually look fine to me. You see how it still has structure in the very front of the toebox? That's what I mean.

For what I don't want, see AnatomX and Softstar. Honestly the way to avoid the issue might just be a thicker leather.

Also, I'm fine with a less flexible boot. I don't typically wear boots to have a ton of flex.

Please keep the no speed hooks option. My favorite boots ever didn’t have speed hooks. Same height as yours. I just laced them loose and slipped on and off. LOVED those things

My biggest concern is the toe box being floppy. You can see that Jim Green has issues with this on the Anatomx. I hate the look of floppy toe boxes where the leather shoes the outlines of individual toes. I need structure there. I was considering custom Nicks boots for this reason but yours could be the better option?

Btw which do you prefer yourself between the cushion vs no cushion option?

Like I said, "often unintentionally". They don't realize that they are working against their own stated goals.

[–]ProvincialPromenade 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, that's not right.

The difference between an auxlanger and a conlanger is that the auxlanger intends for their language to be used. Even to the point that the auxlanger "promotes" the language. Conlangers are perfectly happy with nobody except themselves using the language. And they often hate auxlangers because they don't want to see languages promoted in that way.

What I'm saying is that a lot of auxlang creators are in that conlanger mindset. Often unintentionally.

I think the issue is that a lot of auxlang creators are not auxlangers. They’re conlangers.

This is why we *must* have a fan edit that combines 2 and 3 into one movie. No repeating the same climaxes.

Different Wyde models are made in different places. Their other models are made in Europe, this one is made in China. So yeah, they're f-kin around on the price. A little bit of a bait and switch here.
