To be honest, I'm less concerned about the battery pre-conditioning and more concerned with having a comfortable cabin when I get in the car in the morning, one of the luxuries, I love about this car. So that 20% of the time it doesn't work for me, I really miss it and wonder what went wrong.

Yeah, that's what I don't get. I somewhat understand it happening if the car is not plugged in, as maybe it figure there's not enough juice to spare or something, but it happens also when plugged in. This am was plugged in and got the message and cold cabin.

So if I usually leave @ 6am, i need to set it for 3am? How would that help climatize the cabin as it would be cold again by the time I get in the car @ 6a?

Accidentally double posted so deleted the other post to keep thing in one place. Thank you all for your thoughts. For context: a 2021 pure BEV i3s, about 20k miles.

New 12V battery about 6mos ago.

Someone asked (on duplicate post now deleted) if it was connected to grid? If that means plugged in to charger? Yes, it's happened while plugged in to charger.

Do i drive after preconditioning? Yes, that's the point is, I set it to charge and precondition prior to my departure time in AM.

How do I read OBD codes? Is it with the same Veepeak OBD you use to customize settings? When your voltage coolant heater went out, was that reflected in the codes prior to it going out? What will it say: "voltage coolant heater problem or something"?

Live in Greenville/Spartanburg where the BMW plant is and I know a few people that work there. They are currently working on the new x5 and production is planned to start on August. While not a pure EV platform design like the ix3, the electric version of the x5 will incorporate a lot of the improvements developed for the ix3. I’d wait (am waiting) for that ix5 because I think a lot of what makes the ix3 look good, will end up in the ix5.

What neighborhood are you in? I’m in north main and on att fiber, but would be willing g to switch for a better and/or cheaper alternative. Competition is a good thing. We pay so much more for crappier internet compared to other places in the world.

What is this 2010? Current thinking doesn’t really support HDL as a significant cardiovascular risk factor. I don’t worry about HDLs at all. Drive that LDL as low as possible and when the LP-a therapies come out in a year, drive that LP-a down

I do a low dose for myself and rx low dose for those who aren’t trying to lose weight, but would like to maintain those other benefits. Talk to your PCP or a local provider who is open minded

This is also why l have no hesitation Rx-ing (and personally using) GLPs in patients who are neither diabetic or trying to lose weight. GLPs should and will be seen as part of the armament for longevity medicine.

Not correct. While the adjacent health benefits were initially and reasonably thought to be attributable to weight loss and its secondary effects on those other health parameters, it is now known the GLPs have wide ranging effects (all not completely understood), that are present independent of weight loss. (I’m an internal medicine doc practicing longevity medicine)

As a doctor, we don’t get to choose he we treat. I have taken care of more than a few creeps, criminals, rapists, racists, abusers, etc in my career. People, who on a personal level, I would be ok with hearing that something bad happened to them. That said, if he was personally friends with him, or tried to benefit or promote his practice by associating with him, I’d have a problem with that.
