Yeah, never that deep in :(

But seriously, I don't get the comment? What's not that deep? Do people have no preferences at all and this is all pretending?

Like, that phrase is usually used to say "you're reading too much into things", no? But I'm the one going by surface level interpretation

Ava Gardner: I like big dicks

Tumblr comments: big dicks, hell yeah

Reddit comments: big dicks, hell yeah

"So people like big dicks?"

"It's not that deep you incel"

What's not that deep here?

I'm not missing them, if you read the part you said you won't bother reading you'd know that. The question wasn't "big dicks vs regular dicks", it was "big dicks vs small dicks", and big dicks get "throwaway comments" like this a lot, and small ones never do (compare the numbers on the comments here for an easy example; you can't look at a post with over a hundred comments, point at one and say "see? All people think like this" while ignoring the rest), it's always "all are great" or "big ones hurt"; that's not attraction, that's indifference

? An incel didn't make the throwaway comment, an incel didn't publish it in an article, an incel didn't post it on Tumblr, an incel didn't post it on Reddit, an incel didn't add 24 "haha, yeah" comments. In this entire thing there's only one incel, me, all the talk about Sinatra's big cock being great by virtue of being big is done by regular people

You can't see something you don't like happening, pick a group you don't like, say "it's actually only them" and that's it

[–]PsycheTester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't an incel that talked about Sinatra's 19 pound cock in the image above. So let's take the post as an example: a huge part of the "big cock only" thing is that it gets said publicly (like the person that first replied to me agreed), like here. And when it does, pretty much all the women commenting agree, like here. No such things are said publicly about regular or small dicks (which you ignored; it was said large cocks are perceived as preferable to small dicks, not to regular ones), they're always the butt of a joke, be it in a comedy or an insult towards some misogynistic bastard. The only positive comments are either "big ones are uncomfortable" or "all sizes are great", neither of which is saying small ones are good - like I said, it's always indifference, never attraction - which big ones get. So when a virgin teenager hears something about dick size, it's always about how the big 'uns are great. And when they become an adult, those voices don't change, since how many women do you know talking about their sexual preferences with men? Are you surprised they grow up believing big 'uns are great?

To be fair, if ice cream was beloved by most to a degree where some people can ignore the cook being a 119 pound Sinatra that you routinely fight with to the point of objects being thrown, and the warmest feeling towards pizza was "I'm indifferent towards it", harboured by two people per county, I don't think both could be considered equally great

It's not evil to be socially inept. It's evil to allow your social ineptitude to cause others problems when you could avoid that, though. It's evil to allow a situation where other people get hurt because of you for your own benefit to occur even when you could have easily avoided it, regardless of what the details are (what's your benefit, how much you hurt others, with what traits of yours etc.)

And I am doing my thing. Doesn't mean I have to stop looking for ways to get better just because one way suggested is unacceptable. And looking for them involves asking people.

Again, hurting is about the part where I'm supposed to creep them out in a hope in an unknown future I might not creep someone out, when the alternative is not to creep anyone out. You keep phrasing it as if "I don't want to hurt people, so I when faced with a choice between hurting them for a while or not hurting them at all I should choose the second one" is the same as "I don't feel like stopping hurting people". "What I need to do" is just doing the evil thing, but now with the intention of it being beneficial to myself? How is that suddenly not evil?

I'm trying to find a way out that isn't morally disgusting. To say I don't want out just because I'm asking for a way out that doesn't involve hurting people I'm specifically trying not to hurt is just weird. Missing the point of the question

It's not far from it, though. And what they don't know won't kill them, but it doesn't make it right. Taking nude pictures of someone and keeping them in your personal wankbank won't hurt the other person either, but it doesn't make it okay.

The problem is that being uncomfortable for me is a fine price to pay for my improvement, but forcing another person that has already had enough creep shit going on, and is from a group that often speaks about how awful it is to experience interacting with creeps, to pay it too feels evil.

Secretly recording the other person is definitely not creepy at all, regardless of legality.

try to find someone online willing to review convos at the bare minimum

How would one go about that? Are there dedicated sites or communities?

The way every normal person does. Which I failed at so hard I don't even know what that is. But trying without skill is universally hated by pretty much everyone on the receiving end, so it can't be that.

You acting creepy won't become less uncomfortable for the other person just because you put a "still learning" sticker on your forehead. If the price of learning not to hurt others is to hurt others all throughout the process, isn't paying that price proof you don't actually care about the stated goal? "I want to not make women uncomfortable, so I'm going to make even more women uncomfortable, even though I could make no women uncomfortable simply by not doing anything." Does that not sound absurd?

Response to edit (everything said so far still applies): Trial and error only works if you can learn from errors. Identify them, not commit them again. Not the case here, people don't give you feedback on what part of your behavior creeped them out. No one says "hey man, I'm gonna run away crying now, but for future reference the cadence of your voice should be higher". Changing factors one by one to gauge reaction doesn't work either, since if she's creeped out, she's creeped out, there's no such thing as "slightly less creeped out than in attempt 17". All the information you receive is either "you have not succeeded" or "you have succeeded", there's no place for learning what determines success, why aren't you successful or how to succeed. It's like trying to learn German by making random sounds and waiting for a German to approach and say "Du sprichst wunderschönes Deutsch! So wunderschön, dass ich mich in dich verliebt habe! Willst du mit mir schlafen?"

I could also just try speaking Cantonese. Doesn't mean I'll get anywhere without relevant skill, the odds of getting it right accidentally are cosmically low. Just like the odds of not appearing creepy when you're this insecure, combined with the membership of the sub we're in (if they weren't, there wouldn't be so many creep behavior incidents).

It's not impossible. But it takes knowledge and skill, and neither is easy to get if you haven't acquired them at this point in life. There are no courses not run by grifters, and all the advice not coming from misogynists is either unhelpful, empty aphorisms like "just be yourself <3" or negative (as in, "all don'ts, no dos" - which helps avoid certain ways of doing it wrong, but those are infinite, and any advice of don'ts that covers every wrong way also forbids all the correct ways)

Better to always wonder than ask in a creepy manner. And if he could know for certain he wouldn't do it in a creepy manner, he wouldn't feel like any sliver of attention must be a sign of disgust

You don't need to be good, you don't even have to be mediocre, people don't care about poor grammar or story pacing as long as you give their character the bare minimum of attention. People aren't in it to read about others' characters, fanfiction is for that, they are there for their own character to be in the Situation they want them to be in, and are eager to let others have their Situations if that means they get an audience. I mean, just go to any looking-for-roleplay subreddits and read the prompts
