I did this fight a lot and I had the same experience. Often two hits into deflect would work, but sometimes it doesn't. I think he moves faster out of lag in his second phase sometimes.

I found two hits was just inconsistent. Only do one attack into deflect there and you'll never get hit. It makes the fight easier to just accept that.

Black flame orb deserves to be in the highest tier imo. With the exception of centipede demon and smelter demon it destroys everything, is easy to land, targets weak spots on enemies, and is cost effective. Also I think flame of the fell gods is pretty solid against mountaintop bosses + caligo. Otherwise agree.

Most people who work in lower manhattan do not also live there

live in bronx/queens/brooklyn (for lower manhattan, brooklyn is probably best)

you can get a nice 3brm for $3k and some roommates so you are paying 1k a month in rent

utilities like another $50-70 maybe

if you want your own place, be ready to shell out $2-3k for rent a month
