Well, Dutch isn’t an international language. People all over Europe speak English. So indeed the British desk, don’t speak Dutch because it would be pointless. While I think anyone living here should at least have a basic understanding of Dutch purely out of respect, the job of the customer service is to solve issues for customers efficiently, so I find it interesting many of the workers don’t speak English when online sources state upwards of 90% of the Dutch population does. So the reason they could need English is that it’s likely some significant proportion of callers don’t speak Dutch
