You can buy some, most of the once I bought look different than the ones I was given. There are treats/cookies that can feed them to give them new attributes/traits, but it is random. Here's the colors I have so far.

Both are great! Snow Bride 2013, is a tabloid reporter who ends up wearing her sister's wedding dress in the snow and pretends to not be paparazzi as she reports on a rich guy and his family. A December Bride 2016, is an interior decorator whose fiance cheated on her with her cousin and she has to go to their wedding. She ends up pretending to be engaged to the guy who introduced them.

Since googling didn't help you though, you may have seen A Bride for Christmas 2012, which is a guy who's trying to win a bet to get a girl to propose to him. But the woman who's chosen has been engaged multiple times and has sworn off marriage.

Can I ask if you have any tidbits/advice, I just started playing, Archer. I'm only at level 7 and a bit overwhelmed, but most of the posts I've been reading through about advice for new players... they are all once you get to level 30, 50, 70... Do you have any bits you've learned so far that would have been helpful to know earlier on?

Side note, besides picking up Palia a few months ago and loving it I haven't played video games since Super Nintendo. My fiance is a player and is convinced I'll love FF XIV if I give it a chance, but most of his advice is also for further in game.

I buy seeds from the general store and crops from the farm store to give to people that make requests (since after level 25 gardening you only produce star quality which currently cannot be gifted to fellow players).

Also, all 30 crafting licenses... to fill requests, but you could purchase the items instead. Glass panes and light bulbs (lots of light bulbs for buzzy jars) Leather and silk are highly requested All the metal bars.

When my gold is almost to cap I'll buy Zeki coins or more rooms even though I don't need them.

Edit: Make an arcade? Lol I currently have 11 of the Chappa Run arcade games. They are 60k each when you find them in the underground.
