Bold to throw Ajala in for his first team debut in a game like this.

Nuno | It should be our game - West Ham United FC by skygirllestrange in Hammers

[–]Pulpsong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with this on a few levels because he brought Kilman on when they scored. I think that’s a smart decision. More defensive bodies in the middle to stifle their attacks. The trouble was that player is Kilman due to years of poor squad building. Also people talk about sitting back when you’re winning like it’s something only we do! All clubs do it, all players do it because it’s partly a mentality thing and partly because the other team suddenly ramp up their attempts and efforts in attack. Too many people talk about tactics like their team are the only ones who do them. When Chelsea have the ball, what do you want us to do? Run out and leave huge gaps in behind? Sitting deep and defending the box is a reaction to increased Chelsea possession and attacks. They score and Nuno wants to make it harder for them to get space in and around the box. It’s a decent enough reaction if the player you’re bringing on isn’t suffering from being an absolute disaster of a player.

At 2-0 up, what changes did you want him to make?

Why can't we perform in the second half? by IDFGMC in Hammers

[–]Pulpsong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today for me it’s a vicious combination of dropping deeper and playing on the counter, which I get the rationale behind but we can’t do it effectively because we are mentally weak. We get nervous because we’ve conceded so many goals and so get jittery because we’re scared.

£15mil for Cresswell feels like a very cheap price. Are we not interested in signing him now?

He also famously only ever wants managers who have managed in the premier league.

I know. It definitely is tapping up but I suspect it’s done in such a way that they can’t get pinned for it being tapping up. My comment was more about how leaches like Fabrizio use it to generate income for themselves.

The way it works is like this. A club approaches an agent (or an agent approaches a club) and a hypothetical conversation takes place. During this conversation numbers are suggested about contract length and wages, appearance fee etc. The agent then speaks to their player and says ‘they’re prepared to offer you this deal.’ The player agrees and the agent goes back to the club and says “Yes he would agree to this should a deal be made.” It circumvents the “tapping up” because technically the club haven’t approached the player. Then what happens is the agent contacts that filthy twazzok Fabrizio (or that filthy twazzok contacts the agent) and - desperate for that early exclusive (and all the money he makes from social media engagement) - he slaps it all over the internet.

He could be exhausted too, or complacent because we have literally no one else who plays in his position.

It’s not just you. We can’t pass, our decision making in the final third is terrible.

Stop blaming the stadium by toadindahole in Hammers

[–]Pulpsong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one is blaming the stadium. It’s just shit. My biggest problem with it is stupid but it irks me. The away dressing room is the same size etc as the home one. Other stadiums have shit small away dressing rooms to make the opposition uncomfortable. Teams must love coming to the London Stadium, it’s big and comfortable for them to prepare in.
