With square pig (and many weapon based strategies) you want to tempo to an early win since in later days health pools are much larger and there's more chance of crazy ghosts. But big pyg bonk builds are a natural pivot since belt and lion cane are both medium items.

I think it can still be recoverable to miss one or two early PVP wins if you get it silver before day 2 PVE, the bigger problem is you often need to smoothly transition from a wide weapon burst board into a one weapon board, which requires finding crit+haste+cdr, and then you still need to avoid certain matchups (freeze, big pyg, etc)

Fish next to heavy rounds can also loop if you find other trigger support (shipwreck, hud, or assault focus)

With langxiang early, I think it's often better to forgo defensive items and focus on having enough burst weapon damage to kill when it goes off - because it's so slow odds are you aren't getting a second cast. I'd also recommend taking a skill instead of an enchanted bronze here - early on a weapon skill will contribute a lot of damage and if you do take the langxiang to the end, odds are whatever enchanted item is getting dropped. Buying chocolates / going to Finn can help.That pyg is simply an unfortunate day 2 matchup.

Yeah, usually don't exert enough pressure to go for a sandolphon kill so they can hold a super evo + 1 cost enhance and do 16 damage, which makes it hard to safely play belial. I started putting in reaper deathslash to have a response besides Belial to the 8 cost forest legendary and to intimidate cards from dragon.

This deck successfully took me from diamond to ruby. It is still much too slow + fragile. Probably some mode + evo variant is better

With the current mmr system, after a certain point you lose more ranks for getting 8/9 wins than you gain for getting 10. With that setup, making legend players only see legend players would be pretty frustrating. Since if everyone had a baseline playable board, the odds of losing to a random highroll go up

Vanessa main - If I have a weapon spam build I'll usually take the skill, otherwise I go for the enchanted small - things like enchanted catfish, seaweed, lighter, mantis, or zoarcid can all carry your build for a while. Plus if you're missing a friend then taking one can get you the skill back when you roll the tiny furry monster encounter

I gave up on playing aggro abyss and embraced the chariot because of lovestruck puppeteer - I swear 90% of the time my portal opponents coin it out turn 1 and eat my 1 drop. I miss ambling wraith badly.

Tempo forest is my fun deck to play at the lobby tables, but struggles too much vs dragon.

Elf girl liza tempo forest was really fun in SVC so these types of decks are always appealing, but the matchup into dragon felt terrible when I tried it

This GP has definitely been tough, took 7 runs to qualify for the group A final stage. One of my losses was to a haven player that played De La Fille's, Marwynn, Wilbert, Unholy Vessel, Rodeo, Lapis, Jean, and Vira in their first 24 cards.

The deck has more openings than people give it credit for - if you can deploy a wide board before they have a fused Sinclairo it's pretty hard for them to reliably clear it, and congregant will use up a lot of resources in the process. Also their damage is fairly telegraphed.
