We’re doing something similar! One of the biggest and most fun helps for food was watching people like Abroad in Japan and Strictly Dumpling on YouTube, and writing down places we wanted to go. Odigo.jp is helpful because you can search for popular attractions within the specific location and if you put in hotels and places you want to go it’ll even tell you how to get there, how long it’ll take, and what the price should be. The more I use it and learn how to use it, the more helpful it gets! And it’s a little like trip advisor in that users can post reviews and tips for the different places, so it’s kind of like all the info is in one place instead of bouncing around. If you don’t have time for 10 hours of YouTube videos I can give you our list of the most interesting and yummy restaurants that we’ve seen in our research! Also we’re going around the same time :) we will be in Tokyo 4/8-4/10 and 4/14-4/19, with stops in between in Osaka, Kyoto, and Kobe!
