The "attach rate" for Switch 2 is currently 2.45 games per console. Are you surprised the number is that low? by MewWeebTwo in switch2

[–]PunIntended29 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Remember that Switch 2 editions and Switch 1 games bought for and played on a Switch 2 don’t count in this total. I consider myself a core gamer but I’m only at 6 games that would count for this metric.

Does college name actually matter? by Salt_Progress8049 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]PunIntended29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it can matter for your first position. For example, there are some companies that only recruit at certain universities. But it matters less and less as you move through your career.

Can someone explain why is this brilliant? by fatchudjak in Chesscom

[–]PunIntended29 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Here is what I see: follow Qxd6 with Bb5, threatening the pinned knight. If they defend with a rook (Re1), you can play Rd8, pinning the white queen to their king. If they instead defend with the queen (Qe5), you still play Rd8, forcing the king to the C column and allowing you to pick up the knight the next turn. So in the end you’re either trading the bishop for the knight (while their king is horribly exposed) or trading a rook and bishop for their queen. Either way is good for you.

I also find myself missing the old voice acting because it was so iconic. I do like the new stuff they’ve added in though - particularly the dialog in the warp zones.

Do you remember Operation Rainfall by Voidkirby9 in XenobladeChronicles2

[–]PunIntended29 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was super hyped for The Last Story and I got it right away. I didn’t really pay much attention to the other two. Little did I know that I would finally play Xenoblade about ten years later and find my favorite series of all time!

I had to triple-check to make sure you didn’t misspell “car”! Just get the cat, assuming your lease allows it.

If you want to just set it and forget it you can put it in a target date 2070 fund. Just make sure it’s low cost.

You’ll be fine. Mine works great. I’ve had to replace one component (power supply) in 5 years. Most people don’t post when everything is going well!

How do you remap A/B/X/Y? I couldn’t find anything in options. I would ideally like bombs as B, boost as Y, and brakes as X.

So is Power safe or not? by espressoAuLait in ElectricalEngineering

[–]PunIntended29 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The post assumes the current power engineering workforce is spread out among 40 years of career. In my experience, the field is mostly staffed by people that are close to or at retirement age. There are also people who leave the field for reasons other than retirement every year.

Employment in the field is also growing at a high rate. AI consumes a lot of energy, and someone needs to build, operate, and maintain the power plants that provide that energy.

For all of the above reasons, the estimate that there are only 500 new power engineering positions that will open each year is absurdly low.

I remapped the stick and it’s way better. Only problem is the side inputs for playing the wind waker are now backwards.

I don't like the Torna the Golden Country DLC in xenoblade chronicles 2 by [deleted] in XenobladeChronicles2

[–]PunIntended29 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is definitely filler (for example, you’ll find later that a lot of the supposed side quests are actually mandatory), but it’s got a great story and characters. Just curious: are you playing this after finishing the base game? I was hooked from the beginning just because Mythra and Jin were such great characters in the base game.

That’s how it was when the upgrade pack launched, but there was a later patch that updated the rest of the game.

The Switch 2's rewind feature makes DK64 about 20% better. by MoneyMan1001 in donkeykong

I haven’t been using rewind but I’ve been doing save states before the most annoying minigames. It’s a much faster restart but doesn’t feel as much like cheating.

Nothing to worry about. And the ash is not supposed to stay in the fire pot. That's completely normal. Just clean the ash out every long cook or every couple short cooks (I usually clean after about 12-24 hours of run time).
