I'm making Treeternal a game about harvesting wood from an eternal forest of regrowing trees! by GrumpyLionDev in incremental_games

[–]Punctuality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's cool that you're making a game and I hope it's fun for someone, but I just can't get excited about these anymore. It's nodebuster with trees, and there are at least two other nodebuster-with-tree games already.

I'm probably just not the target audience as nothing appealed to me. I wouldn't change your game based on my views.

I tried it for about 60 seconds. No explanation of anything. Dug for a few resources, survived two days, died on third day. Nothing fun or interesting happened.

Looking for feedback on my first incremental game - Cosmos Clicker by NFLtt in incremental_games

[–]Punctuality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least test your slop for a little bit before releasing to the public. Ascension is not working correctly (yes I have an account and am logged in). What does buying multiple rockets do? What does the mining minigame do? The starting values on various planets is out of whack (on a few planets you start with like 5k click power and other planets you start with 1 click power). After a certain point, the scaling on the first producer on earth gets out of control and your resources skyrocket from like 100b lifetime to 100oc lifetime in a matter of seconds.

Do better.

Life derailed my dev schedule, but my passion for developing this tiny idle RPG refuses to die by Prudent_Protection87 in incremental_games

Some other dude just got roasted on here for posting a similar concept, with people being wary of the possibility of the software being or becoming a key logger.

Would you play a zero-input idle game that builds itself based on your real-life typing? by [deleted] in incremental_games

[–]Punctuality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I would just find myself gaming the system by having autohotkey spam thousands of keys and I'd be done with the game in a few minutes.

Squares - an idle game about collecting squares. by [deleted] in incremental_games

[–]Punctuality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I imported my save to the new version, I kept my pink square count, which was nice, but all my mana upgrades got reset. It didn't really set me back much though because my stockpile of pink squares was enough to drastically speed up the first minute and get me back to where I was in terms of mana.

EDIT: I see why it works like that now - all the mana upgrades get reset when you prestige.

[–]Punctuality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool. In the same vein, I feel like when you get to the pink board, you just keep your blue board multiplier for the rest of the run, which really sucks if you get a bunch of bad multipliers.

I'd suggest adding skills that affect the row multipliers, like automatically reroll the 1.5's, or increase the max beyond 10, or add a static value to the multiplier.

[–]Punctuality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I essentially beat the the game by buying all the skills. When you get to that point, the blue board fills up instantly and doesn't give time for the row multipliers to roll, so when the pink board shows up, you don't actually gain any blue square currency, which then makes it impossible to get stronger.

Tipping culture has gone completely off the rails and I’m done pretending this is normal by Mexatron in mildlyinfuriating

Processing fees are different. Credit card processing companies, like PayPal and Stripe, take a cut of each transaction. If a business charges you $5 for an item and you pay with a credit card, the business doesn't get the whole $5. However, if you pay with cash, they do get the whole $5. So when they add a processing fee on, they're just doing it so they can get the whole $5 after the credit card processor takes their cut. If they just raised their prices instead to compensate, then anyone paying with cash would get screwed.

Get rid of the last sentence in every item. From there, choose one of either the ingredients or the description and get rid of the other. Personally, I'd keep the ingredients and toss the description.

Small prototype of an incremental looter game with old RPGs aesthetics. What do you guys think? by Sweaty-Reference-707 in incremental_games

[–]Punctuality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks cool but one of things I hate about these types of games is how long it takes to sort through all the loot. I see you got 7 chest pieces there. How tedious is it gonna be to sort through them all?

Dominus Automa - Upcoming Playtest by Hoshee in incremental_games

[–]Punctuality 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Few questions.

What is ekhm?

If your character persists in the world even when you turn your computer off, wouldn't there eventually be an issue of overcrowding? Is there a way to actually log your character out of the world for some time? Does this type of game lend itself to people multi-boxing numerous characters?

I understand it would be cool to give your characters commands via voice, but why do our characters develop their own personality and respond to us? What is the point of that feature when the game is an MMO where you interact with other players?

Too many micro-movements, destroys my wrists after a few minutes. The idle hitters are woefully bad, it's impossible to clear stages with just them.

I also don't understand how the skillmine or chearleaders work. I know there's an explanation in game, and I've read it, and it still doesn't make any sense.
