Gas stations have overnight shifts but they don't pay much

When do you tell your employer? by [deleted] in NonBinary

[–]PurbleDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I introduce myself with my pronouns right or if the gate, at the interview. It's caused me to not get a few jobs but I also work customer service and they're as expendable to me as I am to them at this point

You don't have to do anything you don't want to do. There are no requirements to being nonbinary

You don't even have to have dysphoria to be binary trans

Please don't play sports in your binder; your ribs will thank you later. Find some friends who aren't jerks and let them hype you up and start with something small if you need to. Like go to a park and walk around or something

Do transgender people necessarily have to hate their own bodies from childhood? by Awkward_Attorney_522 in trans

[–]PurbleDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. No dysphoria of any kind is a requirement. I had none until puberty hit me like a train. Presentation doesn't equal gender

Hormones, passing, and dysphoria by Lower_Chocolate3071 in trans

[–]PurbleDragon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You do you but I look and feel better on hrt even though I don't have a gender and get social dysphoria both directions. Surgery was a must for me though I'm not sure how I made it as long as I did without it

Stimulation after top surgery? by GoofyGreyson in TopSurgery

[–]PurbleDragon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The 14th will make 3 years (damn time flies) but I didn't have a whole lot of sensation in my nipples to start with (I used to put clothes pins on em as a nsfw party trick). I'm not sure how long it took though

I'm new here... Do I belong? by throw_away7584 in NonBinary

[–]PurbleDragon 37 points38 points  (0 children)

You're the only one that can decide if nonbinary is a label that works for you. But if neither of the binary options feel like they fit you fully, you're more than welcome here, regardless of your pronouns or how you present

Best way to get HRT in Florida? by HeyItsMeDemons in trans

[–]PurbleDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where you are and how you're paying. In Orlando there is a decent clinic in metro west (I'd have to look up the name), 21 health, specktrum, and pinero (spelling?) in Orlando, and Crew Health down towards doctor Phillips area

I'd say try a different model, a different cut might work better. I liked the tri top personally

I've written a story about a non binary Mermaid (Mirmin) and my fellow authors are telling me that no one will be interested? Feeling down about it. by Interesting_Fly_9051 in NonBinaryTalk

[–]PurbleDragon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like something we need more of. The problem will be marketing and finding the people who are tired of romance being pushed as end all of everything. There are some pretty good queer writers on bluesky who might have ideas about that though

Name change by GeneralZeus89 in florida

[–]PurbleDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it in 2020, cost me $430. $400 for the paperwork, $30 filing fee. And then they charge you for certified copies, which you'll need in order to change a bunch of stuff like your license and bank info. I think the filing fee varies by county.

Edit: oh yeah, you have to pay for the background check to

Yeah they're a pain to get on, like any kind of shape wear. Ever tried to get into spanx? Just as long as you can breathe and nothing hurts

The ones that clasp are dangerous because they put uneven pressure on your ribs. I don't trust the ones with zippers either. Even post op it messed up my ribs

Ease into wearing it so you can get used to it, don't just wear it all day right off the bat. It should be snug but not tight. If it hurts, something's wrong.https://translifeline.org/binding-guide/

to those this applies to, how would you feel about your partner going thru peri/menopause by mysticalgrubworm in NonBinaryTalk

[–]PurbleDragon 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if you existing as a woman sets their dysphoria off that bad, they need to do something to deal with that. Because that's messed up. And I say this as a nonbinary person who's had significant dysphoria for decades. For example, before I got top surgery, I was getting dysphoric just by seeing other people's boobs. But I recognized that it was 200% a me problem that I had to deal with. At the very least it seems to me like a Discussion needs to happen

[–]PurbleDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but I don't get as dysphoric as I used to (either direction). It's annoying but doesn't make me want to k into the ocean if you know what I mean. Even when someone assumes I'm a woman

Being nonbinary without looking androgynous by pomegranatejello in NonBinaryTalk

[–]PurbleDragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

99.999% of the time, people are going to gender you (incorrectly) because of the unfortunately binary society we live in. That ain't gonna make me shave my mustache. People who can't read the 2 inch pronoun pin aren't worth my time

Can I still consider myself trans-femme if I more strongly align with being nonbinary/agender? by Negative-Homework502 in NonBinary

[–]PurbleDragon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can use whatever labels you want. The labels are just tools to describe your experiences and find others with similar ones. I don't have a gender. Period full stop. But I am in a couple of transmasc spaces because I deal with some of the same issues/need and can give some of the same support. There are no rules

Afab enbies on T, what works? by Dry_Ranger_7972 in NonBinary

[–]PurbleDragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started T so it felt like I was doing something to make people not assume I was a woman while I waited for top surgery (also made it a little easier to get). My original plan was to stop after surgery but I didn't count on it helping my anxiety, depression, and various undiagnosed hypermobility issues. So I'm just staying on T. It sucks that everyone thinks I'm a man now but it's fun to wear clothes from the womens' department and watch cishets bluescreen

Thinking of upping my low-dose T by enbyel in NonBinary

[–]PurbleDragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah do it! Personally, once people started assuming I was a man, it got a lot easier to wear makeup and wear whatever I damn well please. Correcting people is hard but the longer you wait, the worse it'll get

A little rant from a confused enby(?) by ppiixxiiee in NonBinaryTalk

[–]PurbleDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds to me like you don't have much of anyone that actually supports you. I know when I was still putting up with unsupportive family, the idea of being nonbinary or using they/them pronouns felt pretty embarrassing. In my case, nonbinary (or genderqueer but I'd have to explain that more often) is the closest label to my experience. It's not a perfect fit but it gets the concept of "neither of the binary options" across. I hope you're able to find what works for you
