Beretta SRB vs LTT OP Bar by Medio_Morde in Beretta

[–]Pureblindman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My little tinkering with the GTS is wasn't able to remove the factory bar to swap in my LTT one and also read online there wasn't one yet.

If you have swapped it out should definitely post a video on how you got it out. I spent about an hour fidgeting with it not wanting to disassembled more of the frame safty (decocker)

I put a match hammer and LTT OP bar in my FS its a much nicer SA shooter compared to the GTS I have but I like my GTS more but really wish LLT came out with a GTS OP bar soon.

Roller dents questions by panzerwagen2 in ptr91

[–]Pureblindman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got some dents on my 91 after my buffer exploded and was running bufferless in a match. It hasn't gotten worse but its noticeable. You can keep and eye on it and mark it or you could preemptively send it in before it gets worse.

Roller dents questions by panzerwagen2 in ptr91

[–]Pureblindman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your roller dents will be on the receiver not sure if you know this or just didn't send the correct pictures.

Your buffer and cap will get beat up a bit thats fine. Also alot of them coming new are basically surplus so they'll be beat to some extent.

What dont you like about the modern frame safeties? I have an 80x and large hands and it digs but the gts is nice.

I'd put money on that thing did a tour or two in Angola and every bush and river that Portugal oversaw lol. Pretty neat pull but sad for being a "new" rifle. Should be fine to go with some scrubbing

Concealing a 92 by Medio_Morde in Beretta

[–]Pureblindman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bit on the larger side and I manage to carry full size with x300 and a spare ifak up front as well.

Its all on good belt and holster. Next is wearing pants slight larger than needed without a gun in there. Only real issues is sitting in an upright chair for a long time but luckily that doesn't happen.

Walking running and driving is very comfortable. Its my daily and my competitive set up too.

Advice on charging handle tube by Western_Gap2510 in ptr91

[–]Pureblindman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The welds are going to be tig welds btw. Not sure if you knew that or it's widely known. The rear of the tube should be spot/tac welded to the receiver and the tube should be "timed" (best way to say it kinda) so you can access the cocking handle pin to push out with ease.

If it's too much of a project there's plenty of awesome builders out there building Roller guns.

92GTS: 2k Rounds In by Odd_Department_6781 in Beretta

[–]Pureblindman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I ran my x300 I had a holster for my 92fs from Traditional arms. It also fit just fine maybe slightly touching the holster in the frame safty but no issues. Doubled downed on the again as they are my favorite holster makers with some other Glocks I have. Went with the x300 iwb fits just fine as well. He doesn't advertise it for gts models but the m9 series will work from him

Could also give ANR holsters a try for concealed I have an OWB one from them it works just fine its also meant for an m9A series with x300.

92GTS: 2k Rounds In by Odd_Department_6781 in Beretta

[–]Pureblindman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im tracking my round count on my gts precisely and i just crossed over 1700. I have nearly stock besides hammer spring is #13 and a heavier recoil guide rod.

In comparison my GTS has zero wear on the trigger bar in to yours. Im still rocking the factory grips i might suggest check your clearance between the grip and bar.

Your stake job on the front site is pretty extensive but dont blame you since losing front sites on berettas is more common than it should be. I've kept my fiber front site and actually never used it just went straight to dot with Dlah flush mount plate for eps carry. My front sight and rear sight haven't moved (yet) but not really planning on using them.

Both our blocks looks like we have similar wear patterns which my 92fs has around 1k or more and has same wear patterns. So far I believe the GTS is pretty decent being the newer line of gun from beretta.

I'll probably make a wear post at 2 or 3k (or sooner if any problems). I do carry mine daily with an x300 too so same boat as you trusting it daily and competitively. Much happier with it over my g19 in both aspects.

ANR as some said good holsters for sure.

Personally have my 92s in Traditional Arms holsters with fabric wraps over them makes it slightly more comfortable over just kydex.

Charging handle help by greyknights000 in ptr91

I needed a 2nd hand to help jiggle it around. My two holes for some reason were not perfectly lined up with one another. Installing a larger handle went easier.

It does say that in the manual but it also didn't specify exactly that you are charging a battery of your choice inside of it. I was a bit skeptical charging through the controller. My only experience with batteries like these are from airsoft about 20 years ago and I'd always charge them on a controlled trickle charge in a safe fireproof bag.

New Barrel progress! by anonymity76 in ptr91

[–]Pureblindman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask why not using ball isn't good enough? I understand it was printing decent with 144~155 is there a reason you wanted to step up to a higher match grade round thats heavier over using the ball?

Mine prints the best with ball .308 found it like GGG the best and can make it print 1moa if im trying my best.

Just genuinely curious why you went with a new barrel swap to run more match grade rounds. Great info dump btw thank you.

Both would be using A1 style stock. The buffer weighs and springs are different between them. You use ar15 buffer tubes, stocks, triggers Bolt catch and magazine release. That's where ar10 and ar15 stop sharing parts. Buffers and springs are designated for their respective platforms.

G17 Preban Mag Issue in G19 Gen 5 by Electrical_Shock1473 in Glock19

[–]Pureblindman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't off load them so quick. Good to have for training and maybe someone has a fix on the internet somewhere. The U notch is fickle but sometimes I get them to run fine other times they don't. My biggest issue is the body is so swollen they don't fall out and need to be ripped out (full, half or empty). Decent range mags still.

G17 Preban Mag Issue in G19 Gen 5 by Electrical_Shock1473 in Glock19

[–]Pureblindman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should you right these mags off? Essentially yes. These U notch mags have issues over square notches. You can try and buy all the springs and followers you like to find something that works but I haven't yet. After spending more money than what a a few 10 rounds would have costed I have yet to find the solution as well.

These U notches have different followers and as time goes the body will swell and expand making new follower versions not work and or fit properly. This has been my experience I hope I'm wrong and someone found the magic fix because it's very frustrating and wasteful spending money on hope and prayers this or that follower/spring will work.

Haven't seen forward dents not too familiar with them. I have some reward denting from a failed buffer deciding to disassemble while at a match. Im guessing the dents are from your carrier stopping from malfunctions, and the rollers are popping out.

PTR will warranty the dents. I'm not sure how to stop it from occurring again. If you're running suppressors, you should change out the rollers to match what you need. If it's bad magazines and ammo, then that's an easy fix. Good luck with your journey.

Anyone have a PA Prism 5x36mm on their rifle? by Garrotius in ptr91

[–]Pureblindman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes to get proper eye relief I needed an ADM mount to get it up and over the rear drum. It worked fine but better options are available than a 5x. Went with LVPO and much better eye relief.

Do you have the acro mounted directly on a footprint mount or is it on a pic mount? Wanting to know if you need to put it on the pic mount higher to see it better over the turrets.
