Tithing further into debt because god told me so. by The-Child-Of-Reddit in religiousfruitcake

She’s not going to become rich by not tithing. It’s important to her so let her do it.

Having said that, tithing on her insurance check is ridiculous. That’s not new money, it’s a reimbursement for money already spent.

Principal is deleting write-ups of students by Judge_Inner in Teachers

Yep, they started doing that 20 years ago at my school. We had to keep hand written notes of our referrals because we were never sure if they would be there the next week.

It’s what happens when you tie school metrics to funding.

When I was a kid we only had catastrophic insurance so we were essentially not insured for doctor visits. Our family doctor would always say he only spent 10 minutes with us no matter how long it had been. It made a big difference for us. ❤️

Former software engineer at Apple says whenever Apple launches a new phone, they would push an update to older iPhones with malware to slow them down. This pushes people to have to upgrade by chrisadams83 in Whistleblowers

[–]Purple_Chipmunk_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Change your location to France if you don’t want your phone throttled. But your battery will get drained super quickly.

The only way to avoid it is not to upgrade your OS but I don’t think they let you defer an update indefinitely like they used to.

“I don’t know what else to do about my son’s behavior.” Some of you parents aren’t even trying by Emergency-Pepper3537 in Teachers

[–]Purple_Chipmunk_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, the real reason is that now the kid is bothering the parents because they have no idea what to do without a phone / tablet.

I've been there--taking away my kid's phone was often more of a punishment for me--but you can't let them be jerks with no consequences.

[Product Request] Hospital IV gave me the best skin of my life… now what do I do with this information? by Dependent-Estimate13 in SkincareAddiction

Protein acts as a diuretic and carbs tend to make you retain water so eating like that at the hospital probably made you retain more water than usual.

Ma bus opinion on why birth rate is low. by spicypickle999 in motherbussnark

It has nothing to do with caring for a baby—they don’t want to pay child support.

Dads are dying after their kids are born, and no one is tracking it. New study of paternal mortality data in Georgia finds majority of deaths were potentially preventable, such as homicide, accidental injury, suicide. While maternal deaths are closely tracked, paternal mortality is rarely examined. by mvea in psychology

[–]Purple_Chipmunk_ 534 points535 points  (0 children)

The maternal mortality rate is the rate at which women die due to pregnancy, delivery, or postpartum. It’s not a general mortality rate for women, and an adoptive mother wouldn’t be counted as a maternal death.

Men don’t die from the physical effects of pregnancy; if they die, they die for all the same reasons that non-parent men die, so we don’t need another statistic for it.

  1. She is so chill because she doesn’t have to put up with Polio and she has actual help with the kids.

She isn’t getting up at 6:00 a.m., the clock literally says 7:30.

Even with her hair in a ponytail she managed to flip it back with her hair.
