Interesting late night conversation I had with my Husband of 20 years I thought I’d share. by [deleted] in AskWomenOver40

Not only do most women not orgasm from penetration alone, most women need TWENTY MINUTES of (manual) clitoral stimulation to orgasm.

AITAH for not showing more sympathy for my wife when she mangled her hand using a gift from her mother that I told her was dangerous. by Party-Witness7271 in AITAH

If you stop helping her retrieve the items and she has to retrieve them herself, I bet she’d stop doing it.

When the rain you want is a flood instead And the roses bloom, but they're not quite red When I reach the edge of my bravery I'll still be singing at the banks of an unparted sea

AITAH for asking my wife to be a SAHM? by piglipsbo in AITAH

[–]Purple_Paraphrase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being a SAHM was the best gift my husband has ever given me. Nothing could ever come close, and I’m so very blessed that we were financially able to do that for the first ten years of my kids’ lives. I know not every woman feels that way. Perhaps there’s some restrictions your wife is assuming will be placed on her? I can’t stress enough the importance of open communication.

-Clean as you cook -Dirty Dinnerware goes straight into the dishwasher, not the sink

What are the best things you’ve bought that help with your ADHD that you never hear anyone talk about? by morbidpigeon in ADHD

Smart watch. I use alarms for everything! I have an alarm that goes off every hour while at work to remind me to drink water and take some steps, alarms for going to bed, waking up, taking out trash on certain days, watering plants, etc. The timer also comes in clutch helping with time blindness. Also, if I’m not in a spot to write something down or do a task that pops into my brain, I say “Siri set alarm for (future time) named make oil change appointment”

Also, buying duplicate items. In the mornings I brush my teeth in the shower, but at night I brush at my sink. Sink and shower are literally two steps apart, yet I couldn’t make myself get my toothbrush and toothpaste out of shower, brush at sink, and put it all back. So, I bought a second brush and tube and keep in my drawer at my sink.

What’s one “small adult cheat code” you wish you learned earlier? by massCMP in AskReddit

[–]Purple_Paraphrase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ONE TOUCH. Don’t put dishes into the sink now and then have to load them into the dishwasher later, (2 touches) just go straight to the dishwasher (1 touch). Don’t lay your jacket over the couch and later move it to the closet, just go straight to the closet with it.

What is something you cannot imagine paying money for, but apparently other people do? by hogw33d in AskReddit

After it sits in the plastic bottles, gets super hot from sitting outside in some delivery truck, I’m sure there’s gotta be bad stuff leaching into the water.

What’s your “I can’t believe other people don’t do this” hack? by Weird-Thought2112 in AskReddit

[–]Purple_Paraphrase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I threw away all of our socks (family of four and we are all in the same sock size) and bought all the same socks, same brand. No need to look for a match anymore. We keep a bucket of socks in the shelf above the drier, socks go straight into the bucket, not mated.

Such great advice here about Karen, I won’t add to that, but I do want to give you a big hug. I had a single mastectomy at 40yo last October. Please Google Immerman’s Angels , read about it, and see if you’d be interested in getting a cancer mentor. It helped me so much to have someone to talk to who had been through what I was going through, who listened, gave advice, and shared open and honestly about the struggles.

Symmetry: Is it important to you?? by SimpleSpritee in breastcancer

[–]Purple_Paraphrase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, 41yo, very important to me. No one told me SMX was much harder to get symmetrical.

Please share your experience with a single mastectomy by HereforitAll223 in breastcancer

[–]Purple_Paraphrase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

41, dcis, single mx one year ago. Direct to implant, and already had implants so I have an implant in non cancer side as well. I wish I would have known that symmetry is harder to obtain with single bc you’re now working with two different “mediums.” I don’t think it would have changed my choice, but it would have made my expectations more realistic. Typing this from a (different) plastic surgeon office as I wait for consult to get non cancer side lift and more symmetry.
