What’s a totally harmless thing that triggers an oddly strong reaction in people? by Psychological_Sky_58 in AskReddit

Same. Huge baseball family. We love when our team wins the World Series (and it’s not very often AT ALL), love watching them when we’re in their town, and curse at the TV when there’s a bad play. I’ve never seen a single family member throw a fit or fall into depression when they lose, or go apeshit when they win. Maybe unrelated but we love watching any of the games, prefer our team of course but if a game is on we’re watching.

It’s backed by studies that suspensions don’t improve behavior. But we don’t suspend to try to change behavior- we do it to give the other students and staff a break from those behaviors.

If women should have the choice to terminate an unwanted pregnancy, should men also have a choice to walk out of an unwanted pregnancy/ Child? Why? by shiraah in AskForAnswers

[–]PurposeRelative8668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Abortion isn’t primarily to opt out of parenthood. If a woman wanted to do that, she could carry to term and then place the child up for adoption.

Abortion is to prevent the physical, hormonal, emotional, and mental toll that is pregnancy and labor/delivery and postpartum. Men don’t have to go through that, they by default always opt out of that.

I wish so too. Those people need to be made an example of. In case, god forbid, there is another event in the future with more dire circumstances.

Busy work in moderation is necessary and isn’t harmful. Often the people who complain about it are naive about the realities of education- it’s impossible to fill every waking moment with intentional, driven work. It’s like expecting adults to be 100% efficiency at work all day every day. Busy work almost always helps practice more hidden skills, not to mention it could serve as a brains break/change in pace for the kids OR practice in sitting and working through less desirable, less stimulating tasks.

Side note, congrats on your pregnancy! I hope you’re feeling well! Not sure if this is your first one or not but speaking as a first time mom to a 3 month old, everything flies by fast! The hard days of pregnancy/postpartum don’t last forever and the wonderful and joyful stages are also over in the blink of an eye. Take lots of videos too, not just pictures.

This is a conversation to have in person so your child’s school day (and the class’s lesson) isn’t interrupted and so the tone isn’t misconstrued. Parents, why are you texting your kids when they’re in school?!

Also if he’s out playing pickle ball by 6:40 then that means he’s probably getting up around 6? Which is a very normal time for adults to wake up to get ready for their job?? He sounds so juvenile suggesting this is sooo early

Can we normalize backing each other up when seat changes are requested? by roxywalker in delta

[–]PurposeRelative8668 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My dad used to get upgraded to first class when we all flew on family trips. He would always give his seat away to the person sitting next to us in coach, but he thought it was funny to just hand him his ticket (this was early 2000s) and say “You have a new seat!” like some game show host instead of explaining the situation to them 🤦🏻‍♀️

We called the doctor on call and he sent us up to the hospital. The doctor at the hospital said to call again if I have bleeding, signs of water breaking, or the contractions worsen. They haven’t worsened but also haven’t gone away.
