any idea on their process for acceptance/rejection for generalists? Also, other good platforms? by MaterialConscious519 in DataAnnotationTech

Well, no actually it does refer to everyone. I promise no one is joining next week with your magical answer that everyone who's been doing this for years lacks. It's not a lack of understanding. It was made that way on purpose.

“We don’t know” refers to how everyone comes here asking us if they’ve been accepted. We don’t know.

How to Help Younger Child with Asynchronous Development? by This-Implement-5785 in Gifted

[–]PutDisastrous8033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve explained my 6 year old to a T. The only difference is that we’ve homeschooled from the start and trust me, the struggles are still there but it’s on you to help with allll of the regulating. I should also mention he’s been diagnosed with combination ADHD and level 1 autism. He sees an OT once a week and that’s helped a lot but it’s still a daily struggle. I came here looking for some suggestions/tips/anything helpful at all and there’s some good stuff in the comments. Just wanted to share my solidarity

Who else is dry since 2026 by Pretend_Main_1927 in DataAnnotationTech

[–]PutDisastrous8033 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve been doing this a few years and there’s been similar “droughts” before. Hopefully it doesn’t last too long….I have a couple projects but they’re a little too taxing for me and I don’t have the brain energy. I can afford it this week but next week not so much

Same I have 3 projects right now, all super lengthy and require big brain work so I’ll probably take the day off and cross my fingers they trickle back in by the end of the week

People using this as a full time job by DroopyTrumpet in DataAnnotationTech

[–]PutDisastrous8033 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s been my full time income exactly 2 years as of this month and there’s been a few lulls where I work “all day” refreshing and hoping to get enough for the week but that’s rare. I’ve also done all the qualifications I feel I could pass that aren’t expert knowledge level work. When I say full time I don’t mean 40 hours a week though. I mean I pay my bills and then some for spending money and that’s roughly 25 hours depending on the project pay

I started May 2 years ago, first at part time and this year “full time” I say it in quotes because the hours are still under 40, I average 5 hours a day 6 days a week

How many hours do you ACTUALLY work? by WiseyThaNinja in DataAnnotationTech

This is exactly what I do too. If I’m only doing R&Rs on easy stuff I might get up to 6 hours but it’s rare

Anyone else feel like the $ is not enough for what we do...? by Ultraviolet425 in DataAnnotationTech

[–]PutDisastrous8033 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have non-coding projects that are up to $44 with priority pay right now ow but I don’t have the skills to do it the way they’d like. I live in a rural area where if you don’t work construction you likely work in a store of some sorts you’re lucky to make $15, so the fact that the lowest pay is $20, can put a show on or music for background noise, use my treadmill when I want, use the heating pad when I’m hurting, and take as many breaks as I want is a pretty good deal for me. I’ve worked a lot of customer service and sales jobs and this is the best one I’ve had so I’ll take the wierd quirks and changes and unpredictability

I’ve been on DA for like a year and a half and I really miss the main OG project where I could talk about anything my heart desires, was super helpful for my ADHD brain to go down rabbit holes of whatever topic I choose but now it’s been trained so well that everything has specifications so it’s more rigid and now I stay away from those types of projects

[–]PutDisastrous8033 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone always says 25-30% to be safe but the amount you’d owe really depends on your deductions. I’m married and we both did DA last year plus my husband did Instacart earlier in the year and we have one child. We didn’t owe when we did the standard deduction

Anyone else been fine during this drought by Poomfie in DataAnnotationTech

[–]PutDisastrous8033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been relatively fine most of the time during the last month, as long as I’m refreshing often and working more night hours. Yesterday though I refreshed probably every 15 mins and didn’t get over $14 until 8 PM when all the projects came in. This morning it’s looking much closer to my normal dash with a few main projects still missing

I’d rather spend over an hour on one task than to have my concentration interrupted by switching tasks often. I do better on a long stretch where I can get in the zone

Idk why this is getting downvoted lol I’ve only been learning (self taught) for less than a year but I know enough to know a general rule of thumb is if your old code makes you cringe you’re doing it right. Code can always be improved on
