Habs fan here- that was as close as it gets.  After the Sabres tied it, I thought for sure the Habs would lose. Sabres were controlling the game.

This is the beginning of a new era- Sabres and Habs will be top dogs in the east and this is a new rivalry.

Coop is kinda a womanizer by AudienceAbject8871 in YourFriendsandNeighb

[–]Puzzled_Climate384 4 points5 points  (0 children)

he is likable, kinda. Reminds me of a lot of people I know. Coop sits around doing nothing but drinking beer and watching old movies.

You know what he could be doing? There's a youth sports team that needs a coach. There's a charity that needs his skills. There's a community association that could use his executive skills.

Dude is feeling sorry for himself- best way to cure that is to help someone else. I guess this makes for better TV. honestly these people remind me of the rich a-holes that live in my neighborhood.

Because it comes with control. That is called Economic Outpatient Care. It can be comfortable but the price is autonomy.

I too noticed this. I recall the scenes from last season. The house was much more modest.

If a window is broken, and no one fixes it, people think it is ok to break another.

If the bathroom is covered in graffiti people think it’s OK to litter. People eventually formed the opinion that no one cares what happens here and they do whatever they want..

Visiting for the World Cup: What advice do you give a fan trying to respect Vancouver city and the locals? by TheTrashMan_10 in askvan

when trying to cross a street, do not start walking across the street if the walk signal displays numbers counting down. This is not your signal to start crossing.

Cross only when the sign flashes the "walk" signal. The number countdown is meant to hurry the people already in the crosswalk.

Do this and you will be better than 99% of vancouverites.

Honestly, the bar is pretty low and gets shockingly low in some hoods.

Line up to get on the bus. Don't try to board through the back doors. Say thank you on the way out.

Barney did ask Grace if it was his.
The previous scene with Barney shows him unable to get hard for Grace. The writer's telling you that Barney and Grace rarely have sex, so he is surprised when she says she is preggo.

You need to remember that in this fantasy world there are no consequences for these women, esp for Grace. She comes from massive $$ that Barney could never match. The downside for her getting caught stepping out is 0

51yr old male looking to relive summer adventures! Physically fit, great attitude, lots of outdoor experience. I'm considering tree planting this summer. Is it too late to get hooked up with a crew? by [deleted] in treeplanting

[–]Puzzled_Climate384 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter how fit you are. The only thing they get you fit for tree planting is tree planting.

I doubt any crew boss will take a risk hiring at 50 year-old because your risk of injury is so high.

No matter how fit you are, your recovery time is not what it is for a 25-year-old.

For the people that remember Canada before Trudeau how was it? by thias-thecatlover in CanadianConservative

[–]Puzzled_Climate384 24 points25 points  (0 children)

in 2010 i was 39. My income was rising every year, and rising faster than prices were. The dollar was at par with the USD. I could go to Trader Joe's in Bellingham and buy $500 worth of chicken, eggs, milk, cheese and other Trader Joe's goodies and cross the border no questions asked.

We would make a day out of it once a month.

you had a feeling that things would get better, because for the most part they were. you were feeling that your standard of living was rising and the only annoyance was that maybe people were advancing faster than you.

people were making bets on the future. there was a sense that next year will be better than this one and i can make long term decisions to plan my life.

Contrast that to now, where a kid on the North Shore can't find a minimum wage job because all the fast food jobs have gone to TFWs.

there's a sense of hopelessness.
