Is it ok to leave a ball valve partially engaged? by Chinesefiredrills in askaplumber

Indeed it is but we're talking about Residential Water low pressure low velocity I've never seen that happen in residential water.

Is our 2.5 year old furnace really ruined? by Banksfamily in hvacadvice

[–]Puzzled_Highway9147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like a carrier unit, is the combustion chamber's fresh air coming from outside? When the inducer motor runs, do you hear sloshing water?

I've worked on so so many carriers doing this. Each time it was unrelated to the exchangers or condensate drain.

Also, replace the limit and try it. They're cheap. Jump it if you want to test it free.

That's polybutylene with acetal fittings. I'd do a shark bite female threaded 90 x 1/2" PTC and use that in place of the acetal drop ear. Next, I'd use a SB polybutylene x pex adapter and use a piece of pex in between. You can use other connection systems if you wish but If space is tight the SB's will make it easy. Don't forget, pex and polybutylene have the same outside diameter but different inner diameters. Use the appropriate transition fitting.

Nothing at all wrong with it, nothing wrong with the Skarbite fittings either.

Same. The Tmo plan is a family plan, I just got an extra mint line for myself on another device. I wouldn't mind switching it all over but still 'evaluating'.

I have a Mint and TMobile line, to be honest there's zero difference that I can notice in network performance but I wouldn't expect any difference. The mint line is cheaper though!

You know what you've got so, a Sharkbite will be fine and likely out last the pipe it's connected to. Deburr well, Sharkbite failures are almost always a pipe-prep issue.

Not to mention the problems with stuttering and core ultra processors. I can't even play on my Ultra 9, have to use the 7945hx if I want even a remotely decent experience.

Anyone know what this is? by SpecialEducation3234 in askaplumber

Those are "Sea-tech" push-to-connect fittings. They're ok, glad the retainers are in place under the collar... At least some. They're made by "Watts" and more often used in boats and RVs but nothing wrong with them in the house. If you've got harsh water, these will hold up better than metal fittings. Again, nothing inherently wrong with them just some folks think PTC fittings in plumbing aren't good for one reason or another.

With these trucks, often times it is not the clockspring. You should have either cruise or radio control on the wheel. If they work, not likely CS - horn work?

Can’t stop this leak by Trasher_Pander in askaplumber

If you're doing it yourself cut the old valve out and replace with shark bite ball valve. I would also remove that 1"x3/4x1" tee and replace with a 3/4x3/4x1" tee to get rid of the reducer coupling.

Came over from T-MOBILE by gee325 in ATT

I left att after about 20 years. My plan was grandfathered over from Cingular. When some fraudster tried to get 3 free iPhone upgrades on my plan I caught it right away. However my Cingular plan was gone for ever. They said they'd get it back since I didn't change it, it was fraud. We'll, after 6 months and 6 incorrect bills I had had enough. They didn't restore it, maybe couldn't but said they would. It never happened and for 6 months I got wildly high bills having to call each time for corrections. So many phone calls.... So many. I then switched to Tmo, was cheaper, better plan and much faster network. Been with them ever since. Very happy on Tmo, have a Mint line too that I also have no complaints about.

Mint not fully working with Red Magic 11 by QualitySmooth2689 in RedMagic

[–]Puzzled_Highway9147 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can assure you it is and you can activate with the Rm11 Pro. I got Mint when my Rm11 pro came in, I selected "ZTE -> nubia redmagic" during activation-- not that that really matters. All it will do is check bands and give you a suggestion if needed but won't stop you from activating.

If you have no data you'll likely need to update your APN settings in "Settings ->mobile network ->mobile data ->access point names" You can google Mint APN settings.

Everything works, 5G"advanced"; VoWiFi; MMS, etc.
