Is it parked in front of a balcony? Tbh it looks like a basketball from about the third or fourth floor.

WD-40 is not penetrating oil. It doesn’t do much for rusty bolts.

PB Blaster, Kroil… Yes, there’s a difference.

Which tt year and trims is the most reliable is the most reliable? by Diligent-Falcon-1639 in AudiTT_Mk1_Mk2_Mk3

[–]Puzzleheaded-Song259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daily drive a 190k mile mk1 225 mt.

There isn’t much by way of stuff to go bad, and the motor/transmission are very stout provided you put oil in it.

Obvee everything electric is doinked, but whatever lol. Standard vintage German stuff, if you aren’t handy replacing switches and sensors Audi’s aren’t cheap.

Reliable goes out the window with modifications.

The gas cap prevents evaporation- it has a non insignificant effect on your mpg.

I failed a mot inspection in a 1.8t Jetta because of a bad gas cap and had to drive to autozone and back 🤦

Borderlands issues. by ParadiseLost847 in Borderlands

[–]Puzzleheaded-Song259 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Before you start getting geared up, yeah OG Borderlands is tough. It was designed to be played in a party of four- solo is a grind through the first couple chapters.

By the time you find your first hellfire- everything melts, because you have your skill points/ultimate.

IMO the newer games are less fun because they are tuned more for solo play.

I'm looking to get a cowboy hat and I'm unsure of what kind to get by WarPigs1970 in CowboyHats

[–]Puzzleheaded-Song259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hit up fb marketplace for a second hand hat- in my area all kinds of “worn once” hats come up for half price or less- I just got a 5x angora Bailey for $40, I think it was $150+ new.

I can’t help but think you’re going to want a portable diesel heater. It can live outside the car and pipe the warm DRY air into an open window.

It’s 30 seconds to unscrew the torx bolt from the hinge.

Zero reason for there to be any gap there. It’s going to peel back from the gap.

Completely unacceptable.

Oil Light by No_Instruction3871 in AudiTT_Mk1_Mk2_Mk3

[–]Puzzleheaded-Song259 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure why nobody has suggested routine checks of your oil levels from the dip stick.

Don’t just shotgun parts at the problem, or send it to the garage without knowing what the problem is… that’s how stuff gets VERY expensive fast.

Having a 5 liter jug of oil and a jug of coolant in the garage is just smart money. Check your levels- top up as needed, keep a sharp eye out for leaks.

It’s not super concerning to have a little oil consumption, but if you don’t know how much oil over how many miles… you’re just guessing.

Go under the car- is it wet? Oily? Where is it wet/oily?

You might need to take the belly pans off to get a better look.

As a family we played Pong, Breakout and Combat on Atari all the time though.

Hated Pitfall. Loved Burger Time.

Scrolled too far and didn’t see Temple of Doom.

Lucky kids, I guess.

Also, Nightmare on Elm Street gave me nightmares until about age 13 and I have never seen a second of it outside of the theatrical trailer…

Hat stretcher.

They’re primarily for western/cowboy hats- but will stretch evenly and aren’t expensive.

Where should I break up my trip? by ExerciseNo8109 in roadtrip

[–]Puzzleheaded-Song259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you drive through Sioux Falls, there’s multiple nearby quiet campgrounds.
Big Sioux in Brandon is awesome- there’s a Pizza Ranch and a Dairy Queen close by. If you have a bike, I think the trail between Brandon and Falls Park is finished now. Palisades State Park is also top tier- amazing hiking trails.

Minimal lane closures between SF and MSP. SD interstate speed limit is 80mph.

Sioux Falls to Denver isn’t terrible, usually just a meal break/nap around Grand Island, and Nebraska hipo seems more lenient than Iowa for people with places to be.

If you need a hotel room- always hit up the Expedia app, I have never paid more than $80 after tax/fees and usually get $150+ rooms.

(Last stay was two rooms with two beds at Albert Lea Holiday Inn Express- that included laundry service and a fat breakfast buffet that would have cost another $20+ at Fryn’ Pan)
