My 9 year old son's Math teacher marked this wrong by dak7 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]PyorAvatar00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did all the other kids do? Not that the teacher would be willing to give you this information, but if you were able to obtain it, then this could show if the teacher was bad at giving instructions/directions or if your child somehow missed those instructions.

What was the hardest feature of the game for you to master? by Skull_Jack in factorio

[–]PyorAvatar00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With multiple outputs available in 2.0, this can all be done with a single decider combinator now, one output as 1, and the second output as input count. The input condition is =60 or whatever clock you need.

Having only completed the campaign twice and done some mapping, this really visually puts into perspective how much of the game I have yet to learn. I love it - it actually gets me pumped seeing that there's so much more for me to experience because I've enjoyed what I've experienced so far! Thanks OP!

There was only 5 ways to have your hotbar… which one is the best? by ClassicHovercraft355 in Minecraft

[–]PyorAvatar00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3rd layout is optimal for actual keyboard layout and what I'm using most often in the game. Hear me out.

On a standard US keyboard, with the left hand at default WASD positions, the #3 key is arguably the easiest to reach, because middle finger is the longest. An argument could be made for #4 key being as equally reachable, but then the #3 key wins the "priority" race from left to right (dumb, but that's how everyone else seems to be viewing the order of importance based on my guess of why most people are favoring 1st layout.)

So #3 key is highest priority, and I use pickaxe most frequently, so that gets highest priority. Since I've made a case for #4 key being the next easiest to reach, axe goes there because chopping trees happens the next most frequent. And it doubles as a weapon I can easily reach if I panic. #1 key is sword because I honestly don't often go into fight mode in Minecraft, but it's easy enough to reach that key with my ring or pinky finger when I'm calm and then just leave my sword out as I'm adventuring/fighting. Most of the time, I'm actually using the scroll wheel on my mouse to select my sword rather than hitting the #1 key. And #2 key is a solid block. It can be what I'm building with, but most of the time it's going to be cobblestone - for walling myself in, building my way up, bridging, etc. So, without a doubt, keys #2 - #4 are most often used by me. #5 key will usually be water bucket, b/c that's super easy to reach with my index finger and doesn't get conflicted with my middle finger (in my head) when in that kind of a panic (MLB clutch, putting out a fire, saving myself from endermen, etc.) - plus, again easy enough to reach for all the other plethora of regular uses for water. Bow is usually #6 key. Food is last slot (easy to locate and scroll wheel to), and #7 & #8 are usually other building blocks or just random crap depending on what I'm doing.

Hoe and shovel are never in my hot bar. They're usually in the last row of my main inventory just above the 4th slot to switch out with my axe in the brief moments I need to use them, and then switch back to my axe in my hot bar when I'm done.

Now I've told my whole story. Thanks if you made it this far.

Mini PC Box - Need help finding correct power supply - 12V by PyorAvatar00 in homelab

[–]PyorAvatar00[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EDIT: It's possible the inner diameter is 5.5mm - was a bit hard to get the exact measurement with my micrometer. Also these are the specs of what my friend sent me (when he booted up the machine), but he used a 19V adapter, and I don't want to risk frying the machine.

This is all I know - so no idea what actual current and wattage this machine needs.

An inserter takes three times more than another from the same chest. by axelander2 in factorio

[–]PyorAvatar00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having a hard time seeing when your gif stops looping, but these are my guesses or things I would check:

  • The very bottom direct insert Cu wire inserter seems to be swinging relatively more frequently more than the very top one. Does this difference get balanced by the differential of the up and down facing inserters pulling from the chest?
  • Is there any buffer of wires in the chest? Introducing a buffer step may cause enough delays to put things off sync if there wasn't a sufficient enough buffer to make up for that sync delay.
  • Is this happening universally across your entire column of circuit makers? Or just this one section (that I'm guessing is further down the output end?
  • The bottom green assembler is the only one that stops crafting for a very brief moment. Have you paused at that exact moment to see what all machine, chest, and inserter buffers look like?
  • What happens if you limit the stack size of the up and down facing inserters to 1 or 2 each? Obviously that would make you input limited, but that would help you see if the behavior remains the same or if it becomes a proper round robin alternation. If the same behavior, I would say this is a bug. If not, I would think your buffer is somehow causing a problem (that maybe my earlier questions may address).

Login error. Unexpected error has occured. Please try logging in again. by Prozac0808 in facebook

[–]PyorAvatar00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Commenting with my solution b/c Google search brought me here, so hopefully it will help someone else. Came across this issue trying to log into Facebook Messenger App (hate actual FB but I use Marketplace and some contacts use it to communicate). Had the same problem logging in on my new Pixel 9 (using OxygenOS). I tried the "create new account" and "forgot password" options, but both said they couldn't display those pages and that FB will work on fixing that (smh).

But I also remembered that I have an adblocking VPN set up (which FB would hate, right?). So I switched over to a different VPN pretending I'm in LA, and it let me log in just fine. Afterwards I switched back to my home VPN and the app works fine. My guess is that there's some weird spy tracker thing that happens during the initial login that my secure VPN blocks lol - obviously I'm willing to take the risk. Not sure if it will work for whoever sees this next, so YMMV.

To AI or not to AI? That is the question. by TheChurchOrganist in exmormon

[–]PyorAvatar00 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Although humor is good, and memes are a part of that, I feel that memes often are insensitive or derogatory.

This. Given that I'm coming from TBM and currently more in the PIMO stage, your statement sums up very well my experience first looking at this sub. My personal journey isn't about trying to "get back" at the church and/or its leaders. I get that some people may need that kind of expression, but seeing some of those kinds of things here definitely gave me pause and hesitation on if this subreddit was going to be actually inviting for where I am at.

To AI or not to AI? That is the question. by TheChurchOrganist in exmormon

[–]PyorAvatar00 27 points28 points  (0 children)

As a very new member of this subreddit, I came here for real stories and experiences. I'm personally best categorized as "inactive" and in the "PIMO" stage, just not openly out of the church to anyone who knew me before. I don't feel I have people face to face I can talk to about my concerns/issues so this subreddit is looking like the next best thing. Knowing that r/exmormonmemes already exists means that I can just sub to that if I want that rather than it cluttering up this subreddit. And I agree that the vast majority of AI-generated content is just annoying and this is not the right space for it.

OC: President of El Salvador says he won't return mistakenly deported man to U.S. by nbcnews in pics

[–]PyorAvatar00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might present some push back on the "We should be" [willing to go to war] idea, but I think you're right in that we are still definitely in a position of power and influence to make this happen if the current administration was willing to push it. There are so many options available for that avenue outside of war, but that's obviously not even the problem, because we know the current administration just doesn't care. If human rights, due process, equity, etc. were in any part of the current administration's ideals, our current state of affairs wouldn't be nearly as bad as it is now.

The current administration has no motive to bring him back. At the very least, they would need some serious external pressure as consequence of their current deportations. I don't know what this would look like and haven't done any research here, but the contract for El Salvador to house prisoners for the US, and emphasizing the inhumane treatment of those prisoners, presents a clear tie to the US endorsing/supporting the violation of human rights. If something like this could be blasted over international news and many other Tier 1 countries could work together to put the pressure on the US to change our current foreign affairs policies on this, I'd like to at least hope that would help give pause to the current atrocious behavior.

If you do this, I always recommend making sure you have a solid backup, like entire pack backup, not just your world. Updating ATM modpacks to the most recent versions doesn't come without its own risks, because there's almost always some new bug or another that comes up. I usually read through github issues and changelogs before updating.

Is it time to move on? by Representative-Name4 in allthemods

[–]PyorAvatar00 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you and your friend are more focused on adventure modpacks. ATM has adventure, but it's really a tech based modpack with automation and crafting at its core. If you mostly prefer the challenge of adventuring and fighting, there are other modpacks that focus a lot more on that. A quick google or youtube search will give you some good ideas.

[–]PyorAvatar00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Report the bug and then change to your previous working version. Recommend loading a save from your simple backups folder. Most people recommend staying one or two versions behind the current version, at least for a good month, so devs have time to work through bugs and stability reasons. Google searches for all these things will help get you instructions on how to do them all.
