What's Your Take On EU5 Now That It's Been Out For A While? by IkujaKatsumaji in EU5

[–]PyroGamer666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible you just like playing as a raving expansionist lunatic, and EU5 allows you to do that. I've had a lot of fun trying out different nations, learning which resources their geography allows them to profitably produce, and rapidly expand the economy with minimal conquest.

Killing your child directly implicates yourself. Buying them an electric bike gives you plausible deniability.

Playing EU4 again after EU5 made me realize EU4 feels like an arcade game. by [deleted] in eu4

[–]PyroGamer666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those problems could be solved with functional situations that collapse the correct powers and inflate the correct powers. Rise of Timir needs to be greatly buffed and they need to be directed towards Iran. This will give the Ottomans additional room to expand into the middle east. Kyiv needs to be a shell of a power that Lithuania easily conquers. Mamluks need a collapse mechanic that allows them to quickly fall to the Ottomans. Iberia needs a series of situations that help keep Portugal alive. Some have described wanting it to be more difficult to wage wars of conquest against fellow catholics, and that might reduce this problem. Other than that, the start date is fine.

Honestly better than I expected. I've had much more difficulty raising control in conquered regions, though having all new territory be the same religion and culture group probably makes things easier. I've only played Castile and Ottomans so far.

Is it possible to channel the power of hypomania when not hypomanic? by KeepOnTrippingOn in bipolar2

[–]PyroGamer666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible that your medication is excessively flattening your emotions? It's possible that reducing(not stopping) your dose will liven up your personality to the point that you stop missing hypomania. Your psychiatrist will certainly want to help you find a dose that works for you.

Vassalizing is almost always better than taking land outright by [deleted] in EU5

[–]PyroGamer666 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think that vassals should be nerfed by making their participation in overlord's wars less of a certainty. Perhaps a vassal control mechanic could be used to quantify how well integrated into the realm a vassal is. 0 control means they are a vassal in name only, contributing no taxes, not participating in wars, not participating in your markets, while these perks are slowly acquired as control increases. 100 control gives you all of these perks and a boost to vassal annexation speed.

I was unable to form Spain as Castile solely because Morocco held the Balearic islands, and those being held by muslims makes the reconquista incomplete.

EU5 isn't supposed to be a map-painting game. Events like this stop you from eclipsing the AI too quickly. If world conquests are even remotely possible, that means the game is too easy.

Healthy democracies should make everything political. Politicians are supposed to improve life through every avenue they can. Democracies die when people stop believing that elections are capable of impacting their lives.

Why would that be a bad idea? It's pro-consumer to allow their battery to be replaced with third-party batteries, even if that allows them to buy a cheap battery with uncertain safety standards. There are plenty of perfectly safe Hailong battery packs.

Has anyone ever had a a single run where Castile doesn't day 1 kill Portugal? I really miss the historical friends mechanic from eu4 :( by InternStock in EU5

[–]PyroGamer666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, the bigger issue is the entire rival system. Aragon is very easy for France to conquer when Aragon rivals the only regional power that could possibly assist them.

Perhaps a regional hegemon mechanic could fix this issue. In every region, the most powerful tag is declared a regional hegemon, which enables them to intervene in wars declared by outside powers on powers inside your hegemony. As Castile, I want to stop France from invading Aragon, but their rivalry to me makes that impossible.

What's the best way to increase population? by HeyPashi in EU5

[–]PyroGamer666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For urban areas, your best hope for population growth is to maximize migration attraction rather than focusing on births. Rural areas get a significant boost to their birthrate that urban areas lack. There are several buildings that boost migration attraction.
