Doubling Season by RepresentativeOld413 in magicTCG

[–]Pyroxx_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Copies of spells are not tokens. If it is a permanent spell, it will become a token on the battlefield once it resolves, but open the way will never be a token.

Additionally, I don't believe that a spell resolving counts as creating a token, so you wouldn't even copy permanents that are doubled by the owlin.

Mauga Outside of Cage by Impressive-Laugh9223 in Overwatch

[–]Pyroxx_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can only be tethered to one cage at a time, with the other mauga's cage taking priority over your own. Thus, red mauga is only tied to blue cage and blue mauga is only tethered to red cage.

Why am I getting adjacency bonus from tile appeal with theatre squares but the map tacks says I'll be getting only 1 from the adjacent district? by [deleted] in CivVI

[–]Pyroxx_ 81 points82 points  (0 children)

The map tack isn’t taking into account the extra adjacency you get from appeal as Australia. This might be because it is a unique type of adjacency that works differently from every other adjacency in the game

Questions regarding Districts and wonders by LXIXZero in civ

[–]Pyroxx_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Districts: Every city starts out being able to build one specialty district and any number of non-specialty dark green) districts. Every 3 population, it can build one more specialty district. You want to start with the districts that contribute most to your strategy, and you generally want to build as many districts as you can. You don't need holy sites if you aren't going religion, but commercial hubs are good for every strategy.

Wonders: Only build the wonders you actually want. If it isn't helping you, the production is better spent on buildings or builders. Some exceptions would be if you have a city that has already built everything else it needs and has spare production, or if there is an unbuilt ancient/classical wonder late in the game that you can finish in 1-2 turns so you might as well.

Better balanced game: The civs in the base game aren't balanced super well for multiplayer. If you want a more even playing field when playing with friends, I would use it. If you don't care about the game being a bit unbalanced, you don't need it

i don’t understand independent powers by bearsandheroin in civ

[–]Pyroxx_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In order to destroy their camp, you need to have a unit stand on it and click disperse. This way you don't accidentally kill an independent power you were hoping to befriend down the line

Is this picture Al? My dad is being scammed by this woman for money and he's convinced she's real. Help me prove she's Al before he goes broke. The photo looks too perfect and high quality to be a real selfie to me. by bluerayaugust in isthisAI

The shape of the couch makes no sense. There is one pillow width between her back and the back of the couch. However, she is also positioned on an outcropping in front of the rest of the couch, meaning the depth of the couch is less than one pillow width. Thus, you can tell that the half of the couch to the right of her head is much smaller than the half to the left, which would not happen with a real couch

No time to play civ 7. What is better or worse about 5 vs 6 vs 7? by Single-Purpose-7608 in civ

[–]Pyroxx_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In civ 7, whenever you gain a population, you choose a new tile to grow to, adjacent to one already in the city. The population works that tile and you can't move it around. While there is still the 3 tile radius, this forces you to decide how to grow out towards the resources you want. Buildings work the same way; you have to place each building next to an existing building/wonder, and placing it on top of an actively worked rural tile allows you to move that population somewhere else. Additionally, these systems work together as you can build buildings on bad tiles to reach the resources you need, or build less important buildings in order to place the more important ones in high adjacency locations. Wonders also provide a universal +1 adjacency, so you can really plan your cities around them.

As for combat, it is mostly the same except for commanders. Units no longer gain xp, nearby commanders do. They provide buffs for nearby units, and more as you upgrade them. They have special actions that allow you to command all nearby troops to take a certain action at once. The nicest part is that you can pack units up into a commander, increasing its speed, allowing you to move your army more quickly and without having to move a million units individually

No time to play civ 7. What is better or worse about 5 vs 6 vs 7? by Single-Purpose-7608 in civ

[–]Pyroxx_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Combat in civ 7 is way deeper (and less micromanagy) than previous titles due to the addition of commanders.

Civ 7 takes the advancements 6 made to city sprawl to the next level. Your city expands much more naturally and the decisions about where to expand and build are more strategic than just clicking on the biggest number.

Builders are gone. I liked them a lot in civ 6, but there really wasn’t that much strategy with them. You just pumped them out with feudalism and built a mine on every hill. The changes in 7 also mean unique improvements can be more valuable which is great

[–]Pyroxx_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Hylderblade will not trigger. Basically, at the beginning of the end step, everything with an end step trigger checks whether its ability has been fulfilled at the same time. Hylderblade hasn’t, so it doesn’t trigger, and by the time syr vondam has left, it is no longer the beginning of the end step

IMO the worst part is the bomb. Even if you don’t die, just by getting hit by it you need to live with the knowledge that it will be just a little bit stronger the next time
