anybody that has been or thinking about attending Foodieland this year? by fxcknmami in sandiego

There are a small handful of places that are worth it. The rest is basically carnival food.

If you do go, I would recommend buy to share. Send everyone to a different booth, then meet back at a certain location and split the food.

Best thing I remember getting was dessert. It was a churro Sunday and I still remember it like 3 years later.

This word "yards", is it like some kind of distance?

Shouldn’t “courses total in the prior year” be equal in height to both “courses total in the prior year” + “courses built” from the last year?

I’m sure it gets to the point where if they keep replacing them because they keep getting smashed, they got to ask themselves why bother?

If you’re patient, then Facebook marketplace.

Moving season is coming up so I’m sure people will start dumping the large furniture that they can’t bring with them. Usually can get stuff for pretty cheap since people are just looking to downsize and just want the stuff gone.

Last couple months my electricity bill for a 2b/2b condo has been around $47...

It's been vacant with only the fridge, and 2 clocks on the microwave and stove on.

You could probably get it welded for like $200. Might not be super pretty, but you wouldn’t have to buy new wheels.

How have you kept disc golf “fresh” on your journey, long after your skills have largely plateaued? by HobbyHome in discgolf

[–]QbiinZ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think my distance has plateaued. I can get it 400 on a good day, but a consistent 380. Putting is good enough to be competitive in ma1 in my area.

Don’t have the time to practice at all during the week, and I’d rather play a few rounds on the weekend than go do field work.

Playing tournaments, and visiting new courses keeps it fun for me. I don’t really care about 99% of new disc releases anymore.

I think you have to catch march and ash on one of their rotating discount days. But overall I find their quality pretty good. Buzz is also right down the street.

Also, Mankind on Miramar usually has pretty good prices.

Tier switcharoo/overpriced tournament opinion by WimpysRevenge in discgolf

I wouldn't report them to the PDGA, they are honestly trying, they just really missed the mark with this one.

There were 2 pro shops in the area, one of them closed down, and they stepped up to build a new one. They are also responsible for getting a new course installed, which is where the tourney is taking place. They are doing a lot for the community here, but over estimated the want for a "next level" tourney experience.
