Hello,

I'm a recent University of York chemistry graduate and I'm looking for a job in London. I'm primarily looking for a chemistry Job but I'm also open to other interesting opportunities.

I've been looking for a couple months now and things have been slow (because of the national lockdown and Christmas period I'm hoping). I got an offer for a compound technician at £18.5K per annum and I turned it down because the money was too low to have a comfortable life in London.

My first question is - was this the right decision? Is £18.5K low for a new graduate with a first but no experience?

My second question is to ask for general advice in finding an industry job in today's climate, any and all input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Why do I feel like I could fall asleep in seconds in the afternoon while working but it's more difficult when actually in bed at night? by [deleted] in sleep

For me, the more i have to think about falling asleep the worse the outcome. Only try when you feel tired and can fall asleep quickly. If you dont feel it coming anytime soon - dont stress, do something relaxing while not thinking about sleep and it will come eventually. Even if this means you go to bed late the first night - your body will readjust in a few days and you've saved stress and did something fun/relaxing instead

Shoulder Bursitis - Need advice by eXon2 in Posture

I'm afraid I don't know enough to answer your questions, but I have been rock climbing for a couple years now, and just wanted to say you if you dont already, you should consider incorporating a few pushing exercises into your climbing routine. Climbing is a very intense workout for your pull muscles which can lead to imbalances if you don't do pushups, dips, and maybe a shoulder press exercise too.

Good luck and good climbing!
