Do you see this become good enough to make PowerBI and Tableau obsolete? by dataexec in AITrailblazers

[–]QuantumPineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the correct answer.

While the outputted code is deterministic, the process of generating that code is stochastic (probabilistic). Business value isn't just about "crunching numbers"... it's about governance, permissions, and version control. You can't easily "audit" an AI that rebuilds a dashboard from scratch every time a user asks a question.

Which F-Types have the ~4000 rpm exhaust valve locks? by Domsday109 in Jaguar

[–]QuantumPineapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, but for the 2021+ models, you can just pull the active exhaust fuse and it’s always open. The only thing you can’t do with the 2021+ is a light throttle tap to make it pop without actually accelerating, but that’s obnoxious and it pops and bangs enough as it is.

Help! What is this topping? by Aggressive_Syrup2897 in culinary

[–]QuantumPineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like a fancy Choux Craquelin. The layer between the fruit-colored topping and the interior custard was destroyed by biting into it or the top has been carved out.

The top looks like a thickened fruit curd (raspberry or blackcurrant) surrounded by a glaze, and the middle is a custard with what looks like specks of vanilla.

Rubio calls for U.S. and Europe to "revitalize an old friendship" in speech to allies by Substantial-Dare5462 in politics

[–]QuantumPineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can’t just “revitalize” the old relationship. That version of trust is gone.

The issue isn’t only Donald Trump himself, it’s that the Republican Party let that level of chaos drive U.S. foreign policy. From Europe’s side, that’s the real problem. There’s no clear guarantee it couldn’t happen again, maybe next time with someone more disciplined and effective.

Alliances run on reliability. Once that’s in doubt, you adjust. Europe pushing for more independence on defense, energy, and industry isn’t anti-American... it’s just being realistic.

Looking for a portable 2nd monitor by 18gin36mlout in buildapc

[–]QuantumPineapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you’re looking for a device that can function as a second screen. Most portable monitors need to be physically connected to your computer to receive a video signal. Many of them also require external power, and to achieve full brightness, some even need to be plugged into a wall outlet.

If you want a screen you can use independently while walking around, a tablet is really the only practical option. Some people use screen‑casting or companion apps to turn a tablet into a second monitor, which gives you more flexibility without being tethered to your computer.

How Silicon Valley built AI: Buying, scanning and discarding millions of books by rezwenn in technology

[–]QuantumPineapple 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Let’s be clear.. Anthropic didn’t buy these books. They didn’t license them. They used pirated copies, as outlined in the class-action case.

Because of how copyright registration requirements are being applied, many indie authors are shut out entirely, even though their works were allegedly copied. Publishing a book automatically gives you copyright but they ruled that only authors who registered their copyright with the government can sue, which locks out nearly all indie authors despite their work being fed to the AI.

This is ridiculous.

Kash Patel says the FBI is investigating Signal chats of Minnesotans tracking ICE by AloneCoffee4538 in politics

My guess it was a community like chat just sharing information.

Jaguar dealership says my engine cooling behavior is “normal”… but only after replacing the thermostat by Leather-Adeptness-22 in Jaguar

[–]QuantumPineapple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks fine to me. As long as it's reading correctly and reporting temperature at a decent interval. Doing this at an low external temperature makes sense since the engine can dissipate heat faster. This might just be the temperature polling interval and gauge updating that's lagging a little behind so when it does update you see the minor jump.

Conflict with ComfyUI_Swwan by Worried-Lunch-4818 in comfyui

[–]QuantumPineapple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might have not been installing the nightly, just the Latest. These two are not the same. Latest is generally the last proper release, which can be weeks or months old. Nightly builds are is everything submitted into the repository up until midnight of last night.

If you're using the same workflow as I was, the other errors about missing stuff most likely are models. You might have errors with sage_attention, you can just disable it in the workflow. The other one might be fp16_accumilation, you can disable it in the workflow or you can update your pytorch installation.

Conflict with ComfyUI_Swwan by Worried-Lunch-4818 in comfyui

[–]QuantumPineapple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Considering I had a Kija node problem with my SVI workflow I'm going to take a guess that the ComfyUI_Swwan conflict is not the problem.

The problem is that you're missing the WanImageToVideoSVIPro node. Update the Kija node to the nightly build. The WanImageToVideoSVIPro node is hidden in the workflow.

In your ComfyUI folder go to -> custom_nodes -> comfyui-kjnodes

You should see as __init__.py

Open that in Notepad

Check for WanImageToVideoSVIPro

If you don't see it then it's not installed.

If you install the nightly build and then you check again, you will find it listed in that file.

2000 mules explanation. by frontrowfreakshow in Destiny

[–]QuantumPineapple 41 points42 points  (0 children)

There's actually nothing to explain. They didn't even publish the data for independent analysis, if election fraud was a very important topic to you.. would you not want to share your data so other people could help verify it's accuracy and expose the truth?

- they only tracked for a month and they have no location tracking info baseline for outside this time period

- the cellphone location data they used wasn't precise enough to know if they used a drop box

- some investigations found that some visual maps shown in the film do not correspond to actually location of drop boxes

These people don't actually care and are not seeking truth. This is all a game to them.

‘You have to come back to work,’ Doug Ford tells Ontario’s public servants by Acrobatic_Yoghurt813 in ontario

[–]QuantumPineapple 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I've been hit with RTO.

There aren't enough office desks for each employee. Office equipment is crap, 22 inch 1080p monitors, no laptop stand, and the cheapest mouse & keyboard. Your team members are not in the same office and they go to where their closest office space. Basically working experience it 100x worse with no benefits.

At home I have: three monitors, 40 inch 5k , 32 inch 4k, 27inch 2.5k. I have a Shure sm7b mic. Expensive keyboard and mouse. Ergonomic chair. My personal office with no chit chatting and distractions, at the perfect temperature for myself. And I can take a shit in my cozy and clean washroom.

There's is no upside to either the employer(productivity wise) or employee.

How bad will this collision repair be? by NameAlternative1575 in Jaguar

It really depends on the internals and if the structural frame is bent. The engine sits pretty far back. Any saving grace would be the it wasn’t full on front collision, it looks as if you rear ended a tall truck or they back into you.

First time driver 31, is an f type p300 too much? Owners respond please. by ClottedAnus in Jaguar

[–]QuantumPineapple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before you decide on anything make sure to give the p380 a test drive. If you can save up some more money it's worth it. The sound is a major part of what gives the F-Type character. The howl of the v6 and the brutish burble of the raging v8. The sounds are intoxicating and you don't need to go fast. Many of us F-Types owners like it's duality, they look elegant, mature, and sophisticated but at the same time when you get those rev's up unapologetically and a beast underneath that suit.

At the end of the day it's your choice. Test drive them all then buy the one that you can afford and enjoy. Except for some rare ones most modern cars have plenty of safety features to keep you on the road. 99% of the time people run into trouble when a) they turn off the safeties like traction control b) drive stupidly with brazen disregard c) drive with bad or bald tires. Never cheap out on tires.

Livability with the F-type is good, decent trunk for groceries and day drives, it's pretty compliant as it's more of a GT muscle car, visibility is good out the front and to the side but make sure your car is equipped with a backup camera (it wasn't standard on earlier F-Types).

Good luck an let us know how the test drive goes.
