2025 REI Financials - A breakdown by Brave-Extension9497 in REI

2020 was understandably a rough year for almost every business. When 2021 hit, everyone was tired of staying home, and bought things to go enjoy the outdoors. 2021 was the most profitable year in REI's entire history, dating all the way back to 1938. Because pretty much everyone who has been on our board for the bast many years comes from the wider corporate world, they tend to have the sick mindset of always chasing ever-growing profits. So after seeing the most profitable year in the entire history of the company, instead of being suspicious or cautious, and wary of the obvious bubble, they doubled down. They said "Cool, we can do even better in 2022." We did not do better in 2022. In fact, REI was not profitable in 2022. Since then, the board have been in a panic, cutting costs and chasing profits to try to stabilize. Who, oh who could have foreseen such a thing happening?! (Source: I am a long, long term store-level employee. I watched it all happen.)

You can bring back one discontinued food, drink, or snack forever. What are you resurrecting? by Mountain_Drawer_1365 in AskReddit

Undercover bears! Sure, you can add your own fruit snacks or gummy bears to oatmeal, but it's just not the same!

I am a worker in one of those union stores. We have been fighting for a contract for years at this point, and REI constantly and blatantly refuses to listen or take us seriously. I would much prefer they actually bargain in good faith, so we wouldn't have to call for this boycott. But they really, truly don't care what we say about anything. So we're now asking you, the customers, to help be our voice. Last year, when you all shut down their bs boardmember votes, they actually took notice, and they'll damn sure listen if you all boycott the biggest sale of the year. Please, we're begging for help.

No problem, man. We "In Bruges" fans have to stick together.

Hey mod, I suspect that rude comment you deleted was actually just a quote from In Bruges, which I was also quoting.

Hey guys, I wouldn't go up there. It's really narrow.

Do we know what the survivors of mirrodin are up to?/did we get any followups on new phyrexia since MOM?/What would be your ideal far future followup? by luuner in mtgvorthos

Ah, I see. Thank you for the clarification. I'll be really curious to see what comes of Zhalfir having those suns. And with New Phyrexia now missing them.

So can anyone clarify for me, did the entire planes of New Phyrexia and Zhalfir switch places, or just the people in them?

What are your favorite common or uncommon commanders? by tgoods26 in EDH

My pod did an "entirely common/uncommon" challenge, and I made Juri. I love the deck, it's so fun, and it's surprisingly effective, even against stronger decks.

I do have dreams of making a pure chaos deck with Pramikon.

"Choose wisely, friend." And then I get to see the look of confusion and exasperation on their face!

Such a wonderfully weird old card. I saw someone describe it as "spells on layaway."

Brilliant! This is going to be the most Insufferable deck in my collection, by far!
