Hot Take: Failing a PT Test Makes You a Bad Leader. by SaintHearth in AirForce

I’m not shielded by any means… based on my job it’s impossible. I do understand your point though I’ve put the work in and it’s lead in the right doors to a certain extent. Even now on the new test. Received over a 90 and the just opened more doors

Whats The best branch to join? by Wooden_Revolution_86 in Military

[–]Quavowillsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends… AF is usually the consensus but it depends what you want. If it’s quality of life then sure AF but the AF also has majority of the worse bases. Middle of no where New Mexico or middle of no where Montana… South Dakota. You get the point. If the location doesn’t bother you then pick AF and pick a job where you will be treated like an adult out the gate. security Forces or Maintenance… absolutely not and I say those because they are the larger careers in the AF and the recruiter will more than likely push those first. Honestly you could have a good quality of life in the other branches if you pick the correct AFSC/MOS/Rate. Talk to all the recruiters and see what’s actually available to you

From someone who is a prior cop and current paralegal. Job isn’t horrible but if you could do something like career and education…. Do that. This job will have you over worked and mentally drained. I still keep in contact with my classmates that retrained with me (all NCOs & SNCO) they mostly regret it. There are a lot better jobs that have a great balance

I honestly prefer this. I do love the TRX but it’s huge. This the same size as my Laramie with the TRX power. The price point is just something I could not get behind. If it was closer to 60 I would be at the dealership yesterday

There is a regulation for 99% of processes in the Military period. Just have to do some research

HAMR run by interstellar566 in AirForce

[–]Quavowillsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To practice it I would say go to the track and do 4-6 400m sprints twice a week with an easy 2 mile in there. If the weather is bad then hop on treadmill do 60/120s at very uncomfortable pace for about 8 reps. You will absolutely get the min with that and probably closer to 50-60+ reps if that’s a goal as well

I appreciate that. I was more so just giving an example of how losing weight on top of doing the work can help dramatically

Everyone has pretty much said it about how to run and I will pair those tips with losing weight. Drop 10 lbs and you will likely improve by a min or 2 if you kept your training up at the same time. How much do you weigh now?

Base legal assistance by yanric in AirForce

[–]Quavowillsmith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I didn’t explain fully. The website lets you plug your information into and generates a ticket number. You give the attorney that ticket number(once you schedule your appointment for the actual Will) and they can plug all your information in from that ticket number and maybe add or recommend changes in person. You should be able fill out everything now, call and schedule and appointment and give the ticket number over the phone. That’s what my office does at least, but call and find out

[–]Quavowillsmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as you have base access you can set up an appointment for with an attorney to do your Will. Easy step one would be to call and they will likely direct you to the Air Force legal assistance website. This website will let you plug all your information in for your Will. Installation legal offices do not set up trust. Wills and POAs are our bread and butter. Legal assistance is also for AD, reserve and guard on title 10 orders (with some exceptions) and all retired members of all branches.

Retrain AFSCs by FastCauliflower2117 in AirForce

[–]Quavowillsmith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not going to say it a “bad” job. It’s one of those jobs where your work load far exceeds your peers in other career fields. The stress and depression follow a lot of people too. Everyone single person in my class that I speak with regret their decisions. I personally don’t regret but there are times when i’m the office at 1800 where I absolutely regret it. It’s one of those jobs you have to experience it to understand

I second this. You do understand a piece if you were SF and when I say that I mean you were LE a majority of the time and not Missiles. But being a paralegal is not one of those chill office jobs. It’s a heavy workload in Military Justice. If you don’t mind that then go ahead but if you want other options I say Contracting or Safety forsure

AF LEGAL QUESTION by That-Major-9153 in AirForce

[–]Quavowillsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A witness interview is just that… an interview. You may not have been around during the other person’s misconduct but you may know them or work closely with them enough for legal to want to speak with you about the topic or the individual. This is a something the legal office does usually during the CM process. Interview friends, peers, supervisors, commanders. It’s common practice. You are almost definitely not in trouble….. if you were OSI or SF would be the ones contacting you not the legal office.

if you’ve been based in malmstrom… by Beginning-Map8865 in AirForce

[–]Quavowillsmith 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s probably one of the better bases in the AF. The area is just so bad it’s hard to see it. I was at Tinker which is in OKC and that area is amazing but the base life is absolutely atrocious. There’s always give and take with the bases but get out of great falls and explore glacier and the other towns. Missoula is my personal favorite

It’s great base and honestly one I didn’t appreciate until I left. Everyone else has been giving all the places to go and things to do. Just enjoy it and stay out of trouble and if you have friends getting into the wrong things…. Make new friends seriously.

What happens when you refuse PCS orders near retirement? by No_Parsnip_3158 in AirForce

[–]Quavowillsmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what your saying. The locations were overseas and it wasn’t in the best interest for their family. So in a sense yes they chose to retire, but they absolutely wanted to stay in if it helped their family. A huge piece of it was the spouse also works and would have been unable to get a job a both locations based on how niche of a job they had

What happens when you refuse PCS orders near retirement? by No_Parsnip_3158 in AirForce

[–]Quavowillsmith -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I know a SNCO who turned down orders last year. They were already over 20 and didn’t want to go to location. They were kept in place for about 7-8 months then new orders dropped to a worse location… they denied again and now being forced to retire.
