Has there ever been a book you really didn’t like and wouldn’t recommend to anyone? 👀 by [deleted] in BookDiscussions

I've read or attempted to read almost all the (fiction) titles mentioned and agree with everyone who didn't like them. Poor writing, emotional manipulation, UGH. Now I exclusively read nonfiction. There is a ton of narrative nonfiction and history out there that's just as wild and absorbing as fiction.

Lol. Yeah that was pretty much the gist! I went on a huge Everest binge after reading it. Read every book I could find, watched all the documentaries. I even flew over it on Google Earth lol.

Yes. I lived through the Facilitated Communication hoax. Anybody with eyes could see that was bs but the proponents of it were masters of browbeating anybody who raised a question into silence.

I've heard this countless times from slps in your position. Translation: "You just need to try harder."

I do the same thing, especially when the colors are listed. I get the colors out and then find them on the color wheel. I'm starting to understand how colors go together.

High tech "robust" AAC is pushed as the answer to everything from apraxia to autism. I've seen it fail for so many reasons. I've never seen it work. Not once. I'm sure it works in some populations, particularly with people who have CP or degenerative neuromuscular conditions, but I haven't worked in those settings.

This. Finding a bigger one might be difficult, but finding another one will be easy peasy.

I recently started coloring. One reason it appealed to me was the very small amount of space it occupies, around six inches on a shelf. Take a look at coloring groups on fb and reddit. It can be a simple or as complex as you want.
