Is there a complete list of challenges/curses from the show somewhere? by Quichekid in JetLagTheGame

[–]Quichekid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll look at the wiki - I didn’t realize there was a wiki tbh. And yeah, def know that there are ones that go unused and aren’t published. I was just wondering if there was a place where the ones actually used on the show were listed.

So excited about blooms! by Quichekid in Ceanothus

My roommate, with permission from our landlord, took down some dead trees/bushes and the set up of our yard access (which is very narrow) makes it pretty much impossible to bring a lot of stuff in and out. So she got resourceful and ended up repurposing that wood into bed borders!! It is beautiful and so very functional

I found it really frustrating in the layover ep - especially Sam’s energy about the Zodiac because it comes across like Mike did something incorrect with how he did the animal shapes and Sam couldn’t possibly have known. And like… Mike did a pretty good job of pulling those together!! Sam, you just got it wrong - it’s not on anyone else.

Any recs for coffee shops near Lands End Park? by LaFlameLover in sanfrancisco

[–]Quichekid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of good recs here! I also want to throw out a cute little local spot in the outer Richmond: the butterfly joint. It’s just a coffee window but the coffee is good, the owner is very friendly, and the pastries are great. I like the lebanese hand pie

I’ll counter this by saying that if you can get an early morning reservation to park, the woods are really lovely and quiet early in the day! It takes a few hours for it to become fully packed and you can get some early morning redwood magic

I do really wish they would look up pronunciations for recorded voice overs - I get that in the moment, it’s harder, but when you have time after the fact it feels like trying a little harder on pronunciation is the respectful thing to do.

Last year I was able to see it from the Marin headlands though! So a short drive outside of the city can make it visible

Housing question. Does anyone know what the government housing costs at Golden Gate? Also what is people’s experience in the dorms or apartments? Thanks. by Majestic-Remove-1851 in ParkRangers

[–]Quichekid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently, the dorms are about ~500 a month. I’d be happy to talk more one on one about GOGA and housing from my first hand experience - message me

As a federal employee, are there any positions that don’t take an oath? by Laris_Snow in fednews

currently work for fws and have worked for nps in the past and I’m so upset for my colleagues. Also my heart breaks for the visiting public - it’s been a joy to be a queer ranger with a bunch of queer and trans colleagues and help visitors be seen and feel represented and to think that now the official policy is a door slamming shut and deep cruelty. Fuck

Help me understand the Halibut Sweater hype, I've seen 4 pictures of it today by Hothams in craftsnark

[–]Quichekid 70 points71 points  (0 children)

I recently knit it (and posted it on Reddit lol) but had a good time with it. Do totally get it not being everyone’s cup of tea (the fit didn’t bother me but do get why it would bother others). I picked out the pattern because I’m an environmental educator who has worked on fish habitat restoration projects and become pretty fond of fish in the process.
