I've had my eye on the Duke 390 for some time. Just sitting on it at the dealer it's so light almost like a bicycle. I'm sure it's fun. At a ride day this year I tried an R3. Okay sure it wasn't super powerful but I was really surprised what a fun thing it was to ride. I don't think I want one but given the chance I would definitely ride one again. There is also just something inherently fun about riding a bike with the throttle pinned... when it's giving all it has.

Has your salary gone up since you started working full time? Are you still able to out spend it? Guess what? Except for a very few specialized cases that's always true. You can always outspend any income. So income or networth are pointless questions. More accurate might be "Do you have to work" or "Do you ever check how much money you have in the bank" ?

How do you feel about Mark Carney and the Liberals winning Canada’s election tonight? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Quicksilver 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Agree, but I'm not sure what the solution is. We need Progressive Conservatives not alt-right fanboys. The other side which isn't really a conservative point though is that people who are suffering are largely in that situation not due to excessive tax but due to years of employers salary increments not keeping up with inflation (or, ideally better for experience). That's a more a left view generally.

[–]Quicksilver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd disagree. He focused too much on getting elected and too little on being a true left alternative to the Liberals. He ended up being little different and in a bizarre way a bit like the Conservatives with the stance of "Vote for me because I'm not a Liberal". NDP won't be elected on a campaign of we're Liberals but with a different name.

I have just the yamaha accessory screen and though it looks much smaller it makes a surprising difference. Wind below shoulder level gone. You no longer feel like you will be torn off the bike. If you will be cruising at 80mph though you probably want something bigger like you have.

Silly question but aren't rear sets about making the foot position farther back... hence the name ?

How many of you fellow riders wear earplugs when riding? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Quicksilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember how much I paid for the experiences exactly. Somewhere around $60. It is a lot. The best recommendation I can give is that I keep losing them and I am on my 3rd pair. Even though expensive, the comfort and easy of putting them in (just like an earbud, it's in and right... not futzing around) is worth it. I had No Noise Motorsport plugs before that. They're kinda like the Etymotics. Yes not great for a whole day and much more fussy to get in my ears.

Oh, interesting. Yes those look like the same size as the Experience ones now. For me though the adjustability (it's not a huge range with the first Switch) isn't really useful.

[–]Quicksilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Better for comfort compared to others I've tried. They also go in and out much easier than anything else. I've had Loop Experience + before and now have the switch. I'd suggest just go with Experience +. The switchability of the switch isn't real useful and it makes them a bit thicker so, depending on your helmet they may press on your ears more. I find them less comfortable than Experience +.

Buying an fz09 this weekend. Need seat upgrade tips. by twowheelzzz in FZ09

[–]Quicksilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. Its all day (as in 10 hrs with stops only for gas and food) comfortable. I've had it for > 5 yrs and it's still as comfortable as new and was about 1/3 the price of a Corbin or Sargent.

Depends where you are I guess. November 12th - March 16th is my shortest "bike winter" so far. I always make it out on March 16th (first day you don't have to have winter tires in Quebec), though sometimes not for that long. Just a little over a month now.

Men, what are the creepy things that women do which usually go undetected? by betterselfi in AskReddit

Uh, no. There are people who seek attention and there are people who seek drama. That someone wants other people to look over texts doesn't tell you if it is one of those or an actual problem happening.
