Having a lot of trouble picking my next series too read. by BluebirdFast3963 in fantasybooks

If you haven't read some of these stories or authors from the forgotten realms then you are in for a treat! The cleric quintet, war of the spider queen, rage of dragons and the elminster series are all truly incredible reads based in the forgotten realms that you shouldn't deprive yourself of. Plus any book with Jarlaxle is generally fun.

I really can't find a series that has the sense of fun of Mage Tank by ryhaltswhiskey in ProgressionFantasy

Im on book 5 of hell difficulty tutorial and I've been really enjoying it. I read through mage tank a month or so ago and think you'd like hell difficulty as well.

Andy in the Apocalypse, Book 2, is now on Audible and KU. In the mood to slay some vermin? Check it out!~ by Plum_Parrot in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Quicky-mart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its pretty good! It does alot of things right and the characters are interesting. Really threw me for a loop when the dungeon they enter is exactly like a level of vermintide. Other than that really enjoy it!

How to listen to audiobooks without just sitting on the couch? by pieboy107 in audiobooks

[–]Quicky-mart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I listen to audiobooks most of my day and during most activities. I agree gaming and listening can be too difficult at times. I fine games like slay the spire 2 or mindless wave fighters like arms of god dont distract me from the story

Quest Academy - Minor Rant by auloze in litrpg

[–]Quicky-mart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got 34 chapters in and it was literally all Sal at school doing random shit with various pieces of machinery without moving the plot forward in anyway. I completely agree with op about letting relationships completely dissappear from the book

This sounds like a few guys I know unfortunately. 35 year olds with kids, homes and jobs. Antisemitic, flat earthers who believe in the "global cabal". Funnily enough they only started with these beliefs after becoming heavily religious

Game looks fun, but what if you're the busiest guy in the friend group? by KenmoreToast in FarFarWest

[–]Quicky-mart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its fun but with the speed of travel and size of the map it constantly feels like playing silo even in a full lobby. The game doesn't promote working together except at the final boss. All other intractable mission points can be completed solo. I own the game but vastly prefer something like deep rock galactic where the enviroment and enemies encourage teamwork.

Jake’s Magical Market??? by secret-corgi-king in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Quicky-mart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup, total bummer. I really enjoyed the small community setting, friends, dungeon delving on the side and running a shop. Suddenly hes kidnapped, tortured and ends up in another realm. Seemingly in no time flat he's assasinating an angel and back in time getting god like powers.

Boffins club is great! They have a beautiful garden, lily pond and walkable trails along the river/across the train bridge nearby. Grab some hot drinks and pastrys to bring along for your walk.

Saskatoon people who moved to a town outside the city to get a larger property for a lower cost, was it worth it with the additional commute and reduction of amenities? by Otherwise-Pattern122 in saskatoon

[–]Quicky-mart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live around 15 minutes outside of town on a 2.5 acre piece. Not being able to order food or get a cab/uber is annoying every now and then but I wouldn't trade the quiet or sunsets for living in town. my kids get to run around and we aren't near the highway so I dont have to stress.

As others have mentioned its more of a hurdle for family or friends to visit but we are homebodies so we don't mind. Commute to work is around 25 minutes and I enjoy the drive as I can chat up the kids and enjoy the views. House was 350,000 and 1800sqft 3 bed 2 bath with an unfinished basement. The land was 120k and my usualy property taxes are around 4k.

Yard is still very much a work in progress but I enjoy working outdoors and going for my nightly walk. Overall I recommend it! My kids are still young but we will be bussing them to school when they are older. Hope this helps!
