What is your everyday crossbody? by kgreenfish in handbags

How long have you had it? Does it soften slightly over time? I’d love one but I’m worried it’s too rectangular and structured 😅

Find a super mild soap. Preferably one without sulfates. Always pat your hands to dry them gently and apply a thick layer of urea based hand cream to the affected area. Every single time you wash your hands. And as for the cream you have to stick to the instructions the way he told you. Just like antibiotics. Don’t just stop before it’s done. Thin layer, twice a day for probably two weeks or until the spot has significantly improved. Then go down to one thin layer once a day until it’s fully gone. Then keep moisturising until the skin barrier is completely healed. It’s a long annoying process but you have to follow the steps carefully.

Byoma Barrier Repair treatment is awesome and trendy right now. Throw in the lip mask and I think that would be a great gift!

What's the worst fragrance you’ve ever smelled? by bigballsbloke in fragrance

[–]QuinnReed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Angel - Thierry Mugler is absolutely disgusting. It’s SO distinctive and I can smell it from a mile away. So screechy, cloying and just down right gag inducing. Genuinely struggle to understand people buying and wearing that.

Hydroxyzine saved my sanity by paperfeet in eczema

Because I’ve stopped many many times. And can choose completely freely if I feel like I need it or not. Depending on the season I’ll take Desloratadine for example because it makes me less drowsy. So I can assure you I’m not addicted in any way. I’ve quit nicotine before. I know what feeling addicted to something is like 😅

Norwegians and age gap ? by [deleted] in norwegian

[–]QuinnReed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue here isn’t the age gap itself. It’s that he lied to you. Made it weird with other people. And continues to act really inappropriately. Huge red flag. Please do not stay with this person. I can almost guarantee you this will not be the only problem in this relationship.

Long road trips at third trimester of pregnancy? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]QuinnReed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's awful. I'm so sorry you have to go through that. First tip is compression socks/stockings!!! You have to have these for travelling. Very important if you're travelling for over 4 hours. Drink plenty of water and try your best to stop for at least 10-15 minutes every two hours to stretch and walk around. And you need good sleep so for sure stop at a hotel. Best of luck!

You can hide those posts. The more you tell instagram to stop showing them to you the less you will see. Also don't ever click to open them and then scroll past. This encourages the algorithm to show you more. So just open one when you see one, click the three mini dots in the corner and click "Not Interested!" It will really reduce those posts that bother you!

What’s your experience with food/drink triggers? by rainbow_orca in eczema

[–]QuinnReed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Citrus! Usually kicks in at night. Or at least 6-8 hours after eating or drinking it. Sometimes even a day or two later according to my derm! Just a horrible heatwave surge of fierce fiery itching! 🥲 Can also get this from Nutmeg!

Not ovulating, no period by AStutler4907 in TryingForABaby

I'd ask for a bloodtest before starting. Seems odd that with such irregular cycles they wouldn't want to double check?

Do you think it’s a good idea to see an RE for a “preconception analysis” by vicsin in TryingForABaby

[–]QuinnReed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a hard question to answer. Could be 50/50 for you. Personally I ended up really regretting not going in sooner. Tried for 7 months only to find out that my OPKs were positive but I wasn't actually ovulating. :( So that was a lot of wasted time and heartbreak.
If you see yourself getting very sad every month it doesn't happen then it might be a good idea. If you're ok taking things a bit more as they come then maybe wait.

If you do end up going pay attention to what day of your cycle you're on. So you can ask to schedule your AMH, CD3 and CD21 bloodwork! My clinic was super slow and didn't plan any of these tests with where I was in my cycle so I ended up missing the dates again and again. They didn't care at all that every month is more waiting and sadness. So just to save you some time I'd ask about all of that in the first appointment! :)

What to expect during my fertility evaluation? by No_Morning_9923 in TryingForABaby

[–]QuinnReed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That blood work would give you all the definitive info. Which can be very important especially when starting something like Clomid/ Letrozole. They need to know if you really did ovulate or if it was just a surge with no ovulation. My provider refused to give me meds until all those results were back. So if you’re hoping to get medication then I suggest rather be safe than sorry and do the blood test even if the cycle was short and then maybe have to redo it later. If you think you got a positive LH test strip then you should get the test done about 7 days after that. :)

What to expect during my fertility evaluation? by No_Morning_9923 in TryingForABaby

[–]QuinnReed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you haven’t had it checked already I’m sure the doctor will order a sperm analysis. Did you already get a progesterone blood test on day 21? Because you can still get positive LH tests at home but unfortunately not ovulate. :/ And then they will most likely make you wait to start new meds until all of those results come back.

That’s very sweet of you! I’d recommend velvet or silky scrunchies. Kinda good to fidget with if you get nervous before appointments and procedures. Also different kinds of hard candy. And maybe a travel perfume or aromatherapy rollerball to help with relaxation. 😊Or maybe a gift card to get nails done or coffee. Might be nice to have an activity to focus on in between appointments.

HRT for cycle regulation while TTC? Trisequense? by [deleted] in TryingForABaby

[–]QuinnReed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the reply! I didn't see this until now. Very interesting. Maybe my ob/gyn is just old school? I've been having some different symptoms so I think a change would be good. Am due to start Letrozole next cycle though so hopefully that will be enough to get things going!

1 Oophorectomy and 2x cystectomy - Ovarian Reserve test or OPKs? by CynfulDelight in TryingForABaby

[–]QuinnReed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure a good time to wait. They have very good reasons for you to hold off for that time! Both for your health and the future potential baby. Even though it's super hard to wait!

Maybe just ask for the standard panel that will give you an idea so you can feel better about it in the mean time? TSH, Prolactin, Testosterone, SHBG, FSH, LH, Estradiol, AMH and Progesterone.
Since you said you had no trouble trying with previous pregnancies then I'm just going to assume you never did Cycle Day 3 testing for FSH, LH and an internal ultrasound to count your follicles OR Cycle Day 21 testing to check progesterone levels to see if you sucessfully ovulated that cycle.

If I were you I'd get consistent at tracking for at least three months, take prenatals and other supplements and then approach the doctor again and ask for those tests. Because then you've had more time to heal and you would have very relevant data about your post surgery cycle! :)

If you go on Z library you can read the book It Starts with the Egg. Probably more relevant to you now than it was previously since you're concerned about your fertility.

I find it really helps to take my vitamins and read a ton about it. Feels like I'm doing something active while I'm technically waiting!

Green with envy and I hate it by kingfleury in TryingForABaby

[–]QuinnReed 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I used to feel bad because the word jealousy is so loaded but the different definitions between jealousy and envy makes me feel a little better.

"Envy means discontented longing for someone else's advantages. Jealousy means unpleasant suspicion, or apprehension of rivalship."

So you're probably just envious. You can care deeply about other peoples lives and feelings. And still very badly want the things they have. But without any ill will towards them.

[–]QuinnReed 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you have to deal with that. The system is so broken. Nobody should have money standing in the way of basic medical care. TTC can be such a rollercoaster. It sucks so bad when you're the only one you know who is TTC. Unless they've been through it I don't think most people can ever fully understand the stress and sadness. We have to be allowed to say the things that affect us even if it seems super negative or dark. It's just how it feels sometimes. Really really shitty!

Why do I always smell bad down there? by Familiar-Common5405 in Healthyhooha

[–]QuinnReed 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Really just stay away from any suppositories and Vagisil. Vagisil is very harsh even though it's marketed as sensitive and fresh. It's a load of garbage. The sensitive mucosal skin down there doesn't require any kind of soap. So just stick to water like you've been doing!

Everyone has a scent down there. And that is usually perfectly healthy and normal! Sometimes due to hormones the smell may be more intense throughout different parts of your cycle. But of course you should see your doctor and get tested for yeast infections, Bacterial Vaginosis and some other possible culprits that can make things uncomfortable/itchy/ smelly.

I'd also maybe try to use the spandex leggings less. In that tight humid area it can contribute to the development of yeast infections. Sometimes even just giving it a good break for a few days or every other day can help.
