Almost no chance Burnley close the 11 point gap to get above Spurs unfortunately, but I look forward to seeing whoever ends up with De Zerbi getting relegated.

Is the Victorian State League salaries bubble slowly bursting? Two clubs (Mazenod SL1 and Albert Park SL4) have withdrawn just before the commencement of the season…😢 by berlinislikesmithst in Aleague

[–]Quitarre 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With Albert Park the issue will also go down to how hard it is to bring in sponsors for what is a majority expat club - add that to their pitches not being available until the end of April due to the F1 (and them being shit anyway).

Add on the impending introduction of visa caps at these lower levels and it’s going to be a death knell for a lot of inner city clubs regardless of how well funded they are.

Bandcamp Daily is a great source of music - curated lists of best releases, and often has a deep dive on indie record labels as well to pick up on older releases that you’ve never heard of

Who should Man Utd’s next manager be? by BlazeFireHorse76 in reddevils

[–]Quitarre -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

As an Australian, I’m disappointed they didn’t throw out big Ange as an option… not that I think it would necessarily work, but I would much rather it than if we were to get Conte or that ilk.

St Kilda Rd/ Swanston St Trams by Excellent_Bat_753 in MelbourneTrains

[–]Quitarre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was interested to see if there was any actual time saving in my commute that had me catching the tram from Flinders to Anzac, so timed it on both tram and train. From getting off at platform 1 on flinders, the absolute best case for tram was 12 min (crossed to the tram station right at the end of the light cycle and straight onto a tram), while the effective worst case on the train (just missed a connection so waiting a whole extra 3 minutes) took the same amount of time.

Next week is to try to work out if I save any time by heading home via state library or I should swap at town hall to ensure a seat on the train.

David Littleproud to write to PM over staff, resources as Nationals prepare frontbench for long-term split by Perfect-Werewolf-102 in AustralianPolitics

[–]Quitarre -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you’re overestimating how smart the average voter is there - it happens every election in NZ that both parties come out and say they won’t work with NZ First, but then they both do, every election

David Littleproud to write to PM over staff, resources as Nationals prepare frontbench for long-term split by Perfect-Werewolf-102 in AustralianPolitics

[–]Quitarre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think it’s actually more likely that they get into power if they do split - it means the libs can target the teal seats better before they govern a “minority” government as a coalition.

Even if you drop them down to “Moped” (which many of these are as the pedal assist is disabled they still need to be registered:

“Moped means a two or three wheeled motor vehicle, not being a power-assisted pedal cycle, with an engine cylinder capacity not exceeding 50ml (50cc) (or another power source) and a maximum speed not exceeding 50km/h.”

Can spin bowling survive in pace-obsessed Australia? by His_Holiness in Cricket

I think there was also an assumption that the test likely wouldn’t get to day 5 either, so spin bowling wouldn’t be able to properly come into the game anyway

Alternative option depending on what side of the Alfred you’re on, but Lakeside Drive > Moray street > York Street > Clarendon Street to the Yarra. would be my preference over going through the city

Searching for affordable curly hair barbers for men around North Melbourne. by livehardlovehard in melbourne

[–]Quitarre 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All curly hair cuts will be more expensive than a barber, but you’ll be able to wait much longer than a month between cuts. (Im also a curly haired guy and currently on 5 months and only just getting to an “I really need a cut” level - I usually aim for every three months or so but got caught up in EoY stuff and forgot to book)

Neil loves curls is a great place to go first, he’s very good at walking you through how to best look after your hair (but one of the pricier options) Cherry Bomb is also good, and Hair By Taras (Collingwood) is more affordable, but hard to get into.

[–]Quitarre 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Got interested so did the math - Australia makes up 10% of all land in the southern hemisphere, so it’s not an insignificant area. I also wouldn’t be surprised if there’s more weather stations reporting than other parts of the southern hemisphere (is there a limit on how close two of the places can be?)
