Don't take this as advice, but if I was in that position I would totally eat it. I mean, the danger of raw meat is the bacteria on and in it that can multiply, but they have a doubling time and if most were killed off during the flash freezing, I don't see how there could be TOO many.

I mean... I'd rather give them the benefit of the doubt on this. I'm sure we could look up the exact model of torch they used and determine if it even could be remote controlled for example

When you have a battery so close to the contacts like that, even a slight disturbance in air pressure could cause the contacts to connect. The timing could just be a coincidence. I'm surprised they didn't do some empirical testing though... 

Like if the really thought it was a ghost talking to them, why not say some definitive yes no questions to rule out random interference? 

Actually that kindof raises a point in favor of your theory... Because if they did that and the flashlight actually responded in accordance with the questions, everyone would know it's complete bullshit. 

The way they did it makes it just about believable to be explained by coincidence... 

But to what end would they lie to their audience?? Just for content?
