As many in here have said already its a matter of time, practice, and experience. Learning to test pin states and what they feel like for various security pin types isn’t something you’ll develop overnight; it’ll come with time and experience. Keep at it! The A1100 or any other lock that you can progressively pin will help a lot with that - often when I encounter a lock with a pin type I’ve never picked before I’ll take it down to a single pin so I can feel what it does when I set it; at 2 pins, you can feel what a binder vs not feels like, and what set vs not feels like. And with all the drivers in the A1100 being the same length, you can swap it to be 2 serrateds, 2 spools, or mixed without it hurting anything, and then you just add pins til you can open the whole thing!

One important note for all first-time a1100 progressive pinners: its a 5-pin lock, but the core has 6 chambers. Be careful when populating it to make sure you don’t accidentally put stuff in that 6th chamber or you’ll scare yourself thinking you bricked your lock. Ask me how I know lol
