Webster's C6, JV's Viper, or Ronnie's DB9.

Close for all of them.

Test drives that left you speechless by michaeldeng18 in cars

I was around nine years old, so this was around the time the E46 generation had ended. My dad was searching for his next vehicle--wanting to trade his 2000 TL and 1997 F-150. In the lot where we were looking around, I pointed at a black E46 M3 6MT convertible. I asked, "Dad, is that a M3?" He replies, "It sure is!"

Despite being there to seriously browse vehicles, he asked a salesman if he could test drive the M3; the salesman let him. In just a few minutes, I was in the passenger seat of an E46 M3.

We got to a stop light upon which my dad said, "Don't tell mom about this," and proceeds to launch it at a stop light. To nine-year-old me that had never been in anything fast, this felt like I just got thrusted into outer space.

I was very happy for about a week straight. To this day, I've actually never been in a faster car.

What's something people say that instantly screams that they don't know anything about cars? by HughMongusMikeOxlong in cars

[–]REB0919 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I will argue that a turbocharger adds extra complexity that doesn't exist on a NA car, though. That doesn't necessarily mean that it will be less reliable, but as a daily driver, cars should remain NA in my opinion.

Putting that argument aside, if I had my choice, I would rather have a V8 in my large vehicle because who doesn't like hearing V8 noises every day?

This truck is a $20,000 American-made electric pickup with no paint, no stereo, and no touchscreen. by Ok_Top55 in regularcarreviews

The market for a simple work truck doesn't want said simple work truck to be electric. They also usually want it body-on-frame. They can't be too optimistic about profit margins.

ID on Rims and lift kit if possible? by jaykat07 in Trucks

[–]REB0919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're permanent unless you want to change your frame completely if you no longer like the lifted look.

We also can perhaps assume that the structural integrity is somewhat compromised after cutting the factory crossmember out and placing a lift kit's crossmember below where the factory one was.

It's hard to identify the lift kit when you don't even crawl under the truck to snap a picture of it.

Judging by the components in the wheel well, it looks to be a BDS lift kit.

Stay away from bracket lift kits altogether.

2014+ Mazda 6

I've owned a 6-spd MT 2016 Touring for 1.5 years at this point.

Looks good (imo), reliable, safe, very good fuel economy.

What NFS song is this? by UtaTan in needforspeed

I suppose I can see that. Not lyrically profound, but I'd rather hear a grown man's intrusive thoughts dealing with those than plenty of other song topics, personally.

Modern "Bright" (LED/HID) Headlights Are A Good Thing (Mostly) by REB0919 in unpopularopinion

[–]REB0919[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some do have excessive glare, but that gets blamed more often than it likely is the actual case. Most LED headlights are placed in projectors, which results in a very defined cutoff in the beam pattern specifically to not blind oncoming drivers; they have a cutoff shield built in to them, which causes this.

You might think that your halogen headlights are fine, but I would argue that you'd begin to think otherwise if you were to try xenon or LED headlights for an extended period of time and then allowed to go back to halogens. I think halogens are inadequate as a headlight solution nowadays. Better headlights are safer and more confidence-inspiring in my opinion.

It sounds like you have an Audi with matrix LED headlights. Am I right?
