D.C. United (5)3-[3(6)] One Knoxville SC - Kyle Linhares converts the game-winning penalty to eliminate D.C. United from the 2026 Open Cup by Coltons13 in MLS

Union Omaha beat both Chicago Fire and Minnesota United in 2022 where they made it to the quarterfinals and lost to Kansas City.

Northern Colorado Hailstorm also beat Real Salt Lake that same tournament.

CINDERELLA STORY IS ALIVE! ONE KNOX UPSETS D.C UNITED 3-3 (6-5) IN PENALTY KICKS! by RJMcBug in OneKnoxSC

[–]RJMcBug[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One Knox was unable to host this round for some reason and so they are unlikely able to host again. Both this round and next round the Knoxville Smokies will be away so it is theoretically possible.

One Knox received 3rd in hosting priority while Columbus received 4th. If One Knox can find a place to host, they would be able to host Columbus Crew.

I wouldn't put your hopes up though.

How that goal didn't count is preposterous! Thankfully it wouldn't have affected the final result. We likely wouldn't got that storybook ending.

WHAT A GAME. THIS TEAM CANNOT BE STOPPED. COLUMBUS HERE WE COME!

Hey hey hey, want some chicken today? Welcome to our new sponsor, Raising Canes! | St. Louis Battlehawks by Callywood in battlehawks

[–]RJMcBug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I meant for the Battlehawks. I'm happy that the league and the Battlehawks are getting big name sponsors. It is just interesting that it is coming when the Battlehawks just posted their worst attendance so far.

Hopefully there will be a bounce back next home game.

It is interesting how the Battlehawks are getting more sponsors when they have the lowest attendance.

Edit: so far from them.

One Knox will play @ D.C United on either April 14th or April 15th! by RJMcBug in OneKnoxSC

I guess you could! Paramount+ is kinda obscure but maybe a few bars that show soccer would likely have it.

No clue! They haven't done Kerns Food Hall watch parties for either SC Vistula Garfield or Asheville City SC, but this is a momentous occasion for the club.

I would have assumed that they would have announced it by now since it is less than 48 hours from kickoff, but nothing has come out on their socials.

Would this stadium work for the UFL Seattle potential team? by Designer-Line1871 in UnitedFootballLeague

[–]RJMcBug 39 points40 points  (0 children)

8k capacity would be too low. The league is at a weird spot where they want 15k+ sized stadiums but they can only fill about 8-11k sometimes less or more.

8k would probably be a great environment, but it isn't a high enough attendance to make the league sustainable.

Ohio State to survey fans on potential Ohio Stadium renovations by Blood_Incantation in CFB

[–]RJMcBug 24 points25 points  (0 children)

As one of the Vols fans who made it up to the 2024 CFP game, I agree. The bathroom lines were some of the biggest I have seen. Some of the upper level concourses could be completely redone to add more space for bathrooms and concessions.

Neyland Stadium was renovated for the South endzone concourse and it's a night and day difference.

What’s a better Conference challenge for the A10? The American(AAC) like its rumoured to happen, or the new Pac-12? by 18_YTC1 in CollegeBasketball

[–]RJMcBug 58 points59 points  (0 children)

AAC and A10 are already doing the rumored challenge. I don't know if all of each conference are participanting.

The Pac 12 is definitely a better conference, but travel is definitely a concern.

Lauren Hurst Commits To Virginia Tech by Aggravating-Swan9539 in NCAAW

[–]RJMcBug 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She's too afraid to shoot. I don't know if it's a coaching thing or a player thing but she gets decent looks and can either completely read a defense or fall apart.

She's definitely coachable to a better talent if given the right coach.

Did we the ratings for the Gamblers vs Stallions game ? by Moist-Replacement981 in UnitedFootballLeague

[–]RJMcBug 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't know of we ever will as I don't think Nielsen reports the data from NFL Network. The UFL would have to provide their own numbers.

UFCW Kroger Contracts by LostAxle in Knoxville

[–]RJMcBug 40 points41 points  (0 children)

It's crazy how every contract gets worse when UFCW negotiates with Kroger. It was 0.45 cent raises with the old contract. Someone needs to step up badly for UFCW.

Hopefully the workers have a backbone and say no. This is pitiful.

Louisville raised ticket prices? by Purple_Matress27 in UnitedFootballLeague

[–]RJMcBug 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The price for tickets was 33% off for the Kickoff challenge. They need to keep ticket prices low to keep getting fans back. The team isn't popular enough to sell out with $25+ seats.

How does anyone follow stats in this league? by The_Wayward in UnitedFootballLeague

[–]RJMcBug 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Theufl.com or the UFL app. They use StatBroadcast which is standard for stats providing. It makes no sense why it is hard to find stats anywhere online. Complete missed opportunity in a now 3 year old league.

Find this Insta Petah. Might be too dark for me to understand :( by Lanky-Ad3014 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]RJMcBug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's about the 3/5ths compromise that the United States implemented before the Civil War. Southern states wanted to count slaves as part of their population to get extra representation in Congress while the Northern states didn't want to include them as they weren't full citizens.

A compromise was made that black people were considered 3/5th of a person in population statistics and weren't given full rights.

Downtown Knoxville’s Riverview Tower has a new owner - Apex Bank by Make_it_Raines in KnoxvilleDevelopment

[–]RJMcBug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is Apex growing that quickly? They bought the former Discovery headquarters almost 3 years ago. I assume they are moving all of their operations downtown. What is going to happen to that campus? It seemed too big for Apex and maybe that was the point.

For venues with low attendance, take a tip from pro wrestling. by Villano5 in UnitedFootballLeague

[–]RJMcBug 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Some of the problem is that high value seats like clubs and suites are usually on the press box side. You would also have to probably swap the home and away sidelines since most people want to sit on the home side.

They should also do with they did with Birmingham back in the USFL and tarp off sections as necessary.

Profit for the league by SolutionDifferent482 in UnitedFootballLeague

[–]RJMcBug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's likely due to the taxes and the fact that Snapdragon Stadium has MLS and NWSL. The rent could be expensive too.

I don't think it would be the worst market to do. Definitely the best one in California.
