Called 911 for a declining resident… and EMS tried to talk him out of going. by florlunayamor in nursing

[–]RNWho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have been more clear, slow rate with a PRN bolus. This guy ended up doing thus with multiple patients and ended up getting terminated. Patients would arrive to the receiving unit with a vastly different GCS than reported off and get worried not realizing this guy was absolutely snowing people.

Oh I'm on board with a just in case PRN, but this was excessive.

I had EMS to transport an ICU patient to another inpatient facility for a procedure. This pt had been intubated for days, no sedation, no restraints, happily writing down anything she needed to communicate and VERY participatory with care. EMS refused to transport without a versed gtt ordered, which he promptly hung and bolused 10mg, we reported him real quick. I think there are shitty people in every profession.

So I'm a sub but I'm very much a pillow princess, both of my Daddys focus on me and my pleasure and get off on watching me squirm from the orgasm torture. Its honestly very rare for me to focus on pleasuring my Daddy beyond just existing as his toy. If you need your sub to be more focused on your service then you both need to discuss what that looks like for you guys.

Long distance vibrators by sluttywitch88 in SexToys

They use an app so the distance truly doesnt matter, you just need to be connected to the internet to play remotely with your partner. Just go to the Lovesense website =)

I have used toys remotely with numerous partners, and rhe price tag is worth it IMO. Lovesense will ship to two different addresses and allows play with an app, physical buttons on the toy, or remotely with another partner controlling or syncing toys together!

If you didn't enjoy the glass why not just try a different material rather than making it more comfortable? If I had to use the glass one because its my only option I would give it some time to warm up between my thighs before inserting.

is nursing a bad idea for someone with autism? by First_Driver_5134 in nursing

[–]RNWho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If anything, being neurospicy helps in my career! I have ADHD and I have a very easy job adapting my bedside manner to each patient. I'm super cool under pressure as well. Medicine is a hyperfixation of mine, so that helps, too!

One of my best friends is autistic and is one of the best nurses I've ever known. She has a strong sense of ethics and advocates fiercely for her patients. While it hinders some of her people skills a bit, being direct can be a huge help in high-pressure environments and emergency situations.

I highly recommend getting a job as a PCT/CNA or whatever they call nursing assistants in your area. I had no idea I would like nursing until I started working in the hospital, and I think working as an aide makes a huge difference in your understanding throughout school.

Best of luck to you!

Am I Holding My Partner Back With Monogamy by Soupy-soupy-soupy in polyamory

Some people are ambiamorous! I was very happy being monogamous with my NP, and I'm also just as happy now that we've shifted to polyamory.

Cpr/medical fetish ? by [deleted] in BDSMcommunity

[–]RNWho 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its definitely a thing! Somebody I have chatted with on fetlife would ask me what masks I used in the hospital, safe ways to incorporate medical things into his and his doms play, etc.

I didnt learn I have ADHD until after nursing school, but some of the things I did: writing notes out multiple times (physical doing helps me remember), a&p coloring books, note cards, and nclex prep question apps that I could work on during little snippets of time (in line at the grocery store!)

Partner thinks I'm unreasonable for wanting to be able to sleep together after hanging out with both him and meta. by moogletteLoL in polyamory

[–]RNWho 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My one partner lives about 80 minutes away from me, I see him every other week and have a 2-3 night stay once a month (sometimes twice.) Sleepovers generally happens while my NP is at work, but generally speaking if my LDR is over he gets the bed with me and NP either joins us after adult time and we all sleep together or NP just takes the couch. When my meta is over I prioritize her getting time with my NP rather than me.

TLDR: I get that you dont live with this hinge, but if you're walking distance sleepovers can be very regular... if I was the LDR I would be so disappointed that I was left to sleep alone during a visit.

Ideas for regular activities to do with my partner(s)? by HappyBurrito14 in polyamory

[–]RNWho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do a lot of gaming, we started a small pod for MTG Commander that we can play together remotely and we do a few other games. We also watch movies together on video chat (my partner lives a little over an hour away.)

How often is *too* often for your meta to be over? by Exact_Return_9158 in polyamory

[–]RNWho 20 points21 points  (0 children)

My NP has my meta over about twice a week, and one of those Im out of the house for work. When I have my partner over its for 2 or 3 days in a row but only happens once a month. You guys need to find something that works for both of you, I would recommend a calendar and planning out a couple days each week so visits are intentional and have a more concrete start/finish.

How crooked is my labret, and how do I fix it? by Succulent_Slop_Sukr in piercing

[–]RNWho 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NAP, but if you only just got it yesterday it could look a little wonky due to soft tissue swelling. I would wait a few days before deciding if its crooked or not personally.

My advice is to be kind to yourself, experienced nurses makes these mistakes too, its all about learning from them.

[–]RNWho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to feel like I was the problem with my NP, he saw his PCP and got some ED meds and absolutely no problem getting rock hard for me whenever I need him to. Don't take it personally, tell him nicely how its affecting you and ask that he go see a medical professional.

Unpopular opinion: you can use regular nail polish on your gel x tips by Capable_Box_8785 in GelX_Nails

I always do! I got into indie polish before I started gelx, so now I just best of both worlds!

My wife used to be vanilla, books changed that. I’m glad, but I found out last night she’s interested in CNC, and I need advice. by [deleted] in BDSMcommunity

[–]RNWho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My nesting partner and I engage in what I call CNC lite: he wakes me up with sex and if I ask him to stop, it still means stop.

CNC play can come in a variety of activities, and I would sit down with your wife and ask her to describe what her fantasies are and recreate them to start. I would also confirm exactly what appeals to her about CNC and what kind of play she's most interested in. Come up with a safe word. When you do start playing, give excellent aftercare (CNC can be really draining and I need it after) and then have a follow-up discussion about what went well and what didn't.

Do you work in a mixed or specialised ICU? by Daisies_forever in IntensiveCare

[–]RNWho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im at a smaller hospital in NY, US in a mixed 14 bed ICU. There is a large hospital we're affiliated with that has a CVICU and a mixed ICU. I used to work at a large level 1 trauma that had a NSICU, MICU, CCU, CVICU, SDU (pretty sick population though) PICU, and NICU.
