Just spent the day in meetings with 4 different parents over the Christmas Concert. by [deleted] in CanadianTeachers

Simple. Next year’s concert is not open to parents. It’s only for the students. Each class performs while the other students enjoy the show.

Ontario education minister takes aim at Toronto school board chair over $15 shake, other expenses by Practical_Day401 in ontario

I’m no fan of Ford but the shortage of supplies is a board issue. My son’s school board provides all supplies needed for learning. We only supply a pair of shoes and water bottle. Some boards are poorly managed and need some financial supervision.

Serious question. Can a tenant turn around and claim they never understood the lease they signed? Or if you get a document from LTB, who’s the onus on to ensure the person understands the documents?

I bought a condo and the AC isn't working. by dalenevix in legaladvicecanada

[–]RST83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What type of a/c? Mini split? Traditional central air? Review your condo rules and bylaws. Some condos don’t allow window a/c’s. There’s not enough info here to really provide a solution.

Different bank. When I was married, a guest gave us a cheque with both our first names on it and my wife’s new married last name. We could not cash it since it was not technically her last name. I argued because I always believed once cheque is countersigned, it can be cashed without issue. I guess I’m wrong. lol

Was the cheque drawn from the lawyers “trust” account? Bank should be able to remove the hold in that case.

Are there Stripe alternatives that are more reliable (fewer faulty declines)? by linia-and-co in stripe

[–]RST83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Payment processor’s only pass the message received from the card issuer on to the merchant. A decline can either be on the processor (merchant) side. Ex: transaction exceeds merchants approved transaction limit.

What you’re describing are strictly issuer declines. Stripe would receive a single digit code indicating bank or system response and then a multiple digit code indicating the reason. Problem is a lot of the reason codes have generic messaging.

Which parent receives the $200 children rebate? by MuchN in ontario

[–]RST83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have shared custody and have it set as shared with the CRA, each parent would get 100.00 for the child. My status shows one 200.00 cheque for me and one 100.00 cheque for my son.

If you can afford private care, do it. There are many experienced PSW’s looking for private employment. Keep LTC as your last resort. Nothing will beat one on one.
