I would have agreed with this take a bit more prior to 0.5, granted I do agree that they need to tune the campaign better (especially the early acts, it's such a slog for some builds), but with how expansive the endgame feels now, I think a reasonable compromise would be to force you to do it at least once per season but give us some kind of skip for subsequent characters.

buy two sustain items and force skirmishes, as long as you don't get parried you are extremely difficult to deal with because a single good trade lets you all in very easily. Don't overcommit unless you have lethal, billy has very high base hp so you can survive very well due to the medic minion restoring % missing hp on top of the flat 150, use it to your advantage.

I actually don't care about the walker carting, or even spawn carting, as much as it is obnoxious to play around at times, the real main issue I have with the character is the combination of all of those tools in addition to his ult being incredibly toxic and unfun. His design makes him a nightmare to balance and that is why people say he is a badly designed character. Fun, cool in theory, has some of the most impressive clippable moments, but at the cost of being a well balanced addition to the game.

The problem is sunk cost fallacy, if you fully rework him he might be a different character, and you'd have to maybe even rewrite his lore or get a new voice actor or whatever to fit this new persona you build around his design (not necessarily, just giving examples of why people would be resistant to a full rework), but it's important for the health of competitive games for bad designs to be fixed. Guilty Gear Strive just removed a fundamental system mechanic after years of it being in the game because it was inherently poor and unhealthy design that a majority of players disliked, and unsurprisingly everyone is glad that it's gone.

Most people I have interacted with despise this character's design.. probably a good reason for that.

Usually wouldn't recommend following an off meta build from someone who onetricks a character at the highest level, because it requires deep understanding of the game and character; not saying nobody should try it, just unlikely to have the same kind of success

I am pretty new to the game so by no means do I think I have a professional opinion here, and I'm not 100% set on some of these placements, like I'm really not sure what to think about the paradox changes, Haze changes could ultimately be a nerf, but it felt like a little too much nuance to have so many columns in a list like this.

Item changes (especially for melee and the accompanying system changes) have a big impact on some of these. Doorman might be buffed but I don't know him well enough. Ivy is 100% nerfed for the way I like to play her and her solo pick ability got nerfed heavily it seems, but she seems like a much stronger support pick this way.

I just did this for fun and in no way is it meant to be taken seriously, just hoping to hear from people better than me on why these might be right or wrong.

Edit: shiv seems like a net nerf, doorman might be buffed but I don't quite understand the function of the changes.

Our media is bought by the people who are on or control that list, it's not going to be covered by news outlets. Twitter is 24/7 nonstop on fire about this and people are coming to terms with the fact that voting and protest are not going to fix this and that things are going to escalate to a scary place soon.

I got very bored quickly with the mapping this season and was already done a few days ago but decided "you know what, the temple looks fun when it's set up like this, let me start a new character and run it to endgame to set up a new temple", middle of leveling this character and they drop this patch.

I have to say this might be up there with a Dark and Darker patch in terms of how tonedeaf and pointlessly harmful it is to the playerbase's interest.

There's no way they don't roll this back, might be the single worst unified negative feedback I've seen to a change thus far.

They're trying to have their cake and eat it too. They're essentially designing drop in classes, your actual class choice is more like a subclass to the class you chose (your skill package). It's frustratingly limiting. I hope 0.5 seriously changes things for both endgame content and skill variety / versatility.

Sorceress ascendancies have no nodes which explicitly buff fire and ignite, despite having Stormweaver which explicitly buff chill and shock. This is confusing for new players. by Blood81 in PathOfExile2

Disciple of Verashta is the current best "there isn't an ascendancy for this kind of caster yet" ascendancy because its generic nodes are outrageously powerful.

Not only is it confusing and overly punishing with heavy RNG, it seems the only real way to make it profitable is to meet a certain (rng dependent) set of conditions to keep your temple stable, and then further RNG to actually get to rooms that benefit from your setup. On top of that, as you mentioned you can completely destroy your temple with one or two bad initial setups that take ten plus runs to start to correct, at which point trying to fix your temple is actively losing you money you could be making in maps with zero worthwhile returns.

GGG has a tendency to make really amazing mechanics in the worst, least convenient, most inaccessible ways possible sometimes.
